I think it's weird, considering Luke and Lorelai were sharing a home and R/J were practically family. I guess it was just a matter of being in Stars Hollow in different times. They're not actually friends so they have no reason to keep in touch regularly.

But Jess did mention living in Stars Hollow for six months at some period over the course of these 9 years... so I guess it either was more than four years ago, or ASP didn't really keep up with her own story. I wouldn't put it past her.

Yeah I do wonder what made them choose to make it 4+ years specifically, if indeed there was any significant reason behind the timing. Because it did seem like a long time to me, considering they're family and had an ease about them that they didn't in s6. But I'm guessing ASP wanted it to have been a long time since they'd seen each other, which would make the impact of his words greater I think.

Its not that weird for people to lose touch for a while, in the grand scheme of life 4 years isnt that long. It does sadden me that its been that long but I enjoyed how they got right back into the ease of things in their scenes.

I'm more upset that we still have this open ending for them and no closure.

Both are upsetting. I'd just expect them to see each other more on holidays and such considering they've got these connective links between them.

Honestly, now that some time has passed since the revival, the open ending doesn't bother me much. I am however still (and forever will be) mad that we didn't get more scenes of them together. Even if they were all platonic in nature.

I'm still bothered by everything. Growth-wise, Jess is for sure one of the better poised characters on the show. But he was barely even treated. And emotionally, he got such a disservice, I'm still upset seeing him like that. The ending is just half of it. It's what we saw that bothers me most.

Especially as it really does seem like Amy loves Jess and wants Rory and Jess together. But if that's the case and this was just build-up for the great future they are going to have together off-screen, than she did a miserable job. It's one thing to watch the revival and be disappointed and another to watch it, be disappointed and than see Amy go around saying "What did they want me to go, just have R/J get married and boring?".

No Amy, we just wanted a few more scenes and maybe to have you meet us halfway.
