I just saw the episode (They shoot Gilmores, don't they?) where he meets her mother for the first time. Such quick thinking on his part! Her mother is little intimidating....

Yep, Dave was very quick and resourceful. Mrs. Kim would scare the living daylights out of anyone but Dave was game and handled her well.
