Half way through season 7 in my rewatch and I hate so much that we heard more I Love You's from Chris and Lorelai then we ever did from Luke and Lorelai.
But I do appreciate the fact that they hung on to their relationship overall. Even though they were broken up, they still has some sweet moments throughout this season.  The moment between them when Lorelai is holding Liz and TJ's daughter, Doula. THE CUTEST.  |

I never fully felt her heart was fully into Chris in season 7 either. I can’t imagine it would have been when she had such an important relationship with Luke.

Lorelai's relationship with Chris was definitely a place filler.
The way Luke rushes to her side after Richard has his heart attack just proves that Luke held on the whole time. |
