And his little chat he had with Luke in S5, all bitter and pathetic made me want to Bruce Lee kick his stupid face. I literally cheered when Luke tried to beat him up in S1. The sweet boyfriend act was never for me. Add that to the cheating and this is the couple I loathed.

Oh and the S1 kiss of torture? Death of me.

But the worse thing that happened was the cheating, followed by the awful "We're dating but it's all about sex until I find something better" SL. Such a waste of time.

And obviously add me. The hate runs like coffee through my veins. I'm intense.
Great post! I totally agree with all of that!

You always make awesome posts.

Why thank you, dear. I do try.

And it's easy to rant on this couple. I hated them so much. It was almost unhealthy. My mother doesn't let me watch S1 or R&R anymore.

It is very easy to rant about RD. My hate for Dean/RD only grows with time. Everyone says that Dean was Rory's first love, but I don't think so. She (sometimes) cared for him very much, but I don't think she was ever in love with him. She felt safe and comfortable with him, but that's about it. There was no spark.

I agree with everyone and it's true, I don't think she ever really loved him, I think he was just there, and she liked him a lot, but love, I just don't think so.

So funny story
The way they wrote Rory/Dean, in the beginning my mom, sister and friends all loved Rory/Dean in the first season, I was the left out person because they were all oh we love Rory/Dean, I'm the one who's like omg how I hate them and then the whole she slept with him while he was married thing happened and I'm proud to say they are all Insomniacs now, so now we talk about how bad Rory/Dean are

If that storyline was meant to make more people like Rory/Dean I don't think it worked, I think it just made more people dislike them together.

I always felt so bad for Rory because since she felt so safe with Dean, she didn't want to lose him, but she felt so pressured to say she loved him when she really didn't know how she felt. It was so pathetic to watch. Yeah, that's true love.

And that's a really funny story and sounds like my life. All my friends were such Narcos until the end of S4. They thought floppy hair was sweet, cute, wonderful and protective. Then after R&R they were so disgusted with him that they all apologized to me for calling me stupid when I told them Rory and Dean were lame for 2 and 1/2 seasons. Especially after he was such a jerk to Lindsay after sleeping with Rory. That even made my dad mad. He was all "He has that sweet, perfect blonde with no brains, just like him, and he yells at her after he cheated? Yeah, that's a real Prince Charming." From that point on, I was like, dad you own. And then when Dean blamed Rory for how bad his life was? Oh boo hoo, cry me a river. You're the one who decided to get married when you were 18 and decided to cheat on your wife. Your fault, Deanie boy!

If ASP thought the cheating story line was supposed to be "Yes, finally!" for all Narco fans, I would have actually been offended, if I ever was a fan. It totally cheapened even their S1 lameness that people seemed to enjoy. All people remember now is that Dean made Rory cheat and then dumped her at her grandparents house, in front of a bunch of people, for the second time. Great guy there!

Man, my hate is so intense.

And, of course, Lorelai and Rory didn't think it was wrong that Dean broke up with her because she wouldn't say ILY. The perfect boyfriend couldn't do any wrong.

Dean loved playing the victim, didn't he? He was so pathetic. Nobody made him stay with Rory while she had feelings for Jess. Nobody made him marry Lindsay. Nobody made him cheat on Lindsay. If he was so lonely and heartbroken after his break-up with Rory (the 2nd one), he should've gotten a puppy, not a wife.

Of course it was Rory who was inadequate in that department. Damn Rory for not being in love with perfect grocery boy after three months! What is wrong with her? 3 months is so long! One sixty-fourth of your life! Oh my gosh!

He sat on Lorelai's porch at the end of S2 and said "She likes Jess, doesn't she?" and still stuck with her, then had his little freak out at the dance. I agreed that Rory was lame for stringing him along, but the hissy fits he had were always a bit unnecessary.

A puppy probably would have ran away from boredom. Lindsay was the right kind of woman for him, blonde and robotic. Why couldn't he make it work?

But if we all apply to the Dean philosophy of life we should blame everyone else for our problems. Now that's a real man for you!

Another thing that was bothersome about Dean and Rory was how much Lorelai was a cheerleader for their relationship. Um, he's still a guy Lorelai, with a penis. Even after the cheating, she tried way harder than she ever did for Jess or Logan. I was always so turned off by that. And when Luke did his little freak out of awesome in "We Got Us A Pippi Virgin," of course, Luke was the crazy one! No one thought for a second that Dean and Rory reenacting S1 was weird at all.

You type the best posts and I totally agree. I just thought it was weird how she kept liking Dean even after the cheating, I was like Lorelai come on, who would do that?

Exactly! Normal Lorelai who was not hypnotized by Dean's freakishly tall self would have bitch slapped him when she had to deliver that letter from Rory instead of being all sympathetic like. I know we were supposed to believe the situation was awkward for her but the guy was married, slept with your daughter, in her innocent childhood bed and stole her virginity! Lorelai, where was the freak out you do so well for your mother, father and anyone within a five mile radius when you are deprived coffee?

It was just so not normal for her to be that nice to her daughter's boyfriend, no matter how perfect she thought he was.

And yay for another R/D hater. I want to kill so many parts of Gilmore Girls that involves these two, especially R&R, so I totally understand wishing death upon a season.

Oh gosh, Dean was such a jerk to her. She comes out all pretty, perfect and drunk with happiness and he just dumps her, in front of everyone, again. Does he not know how to handle breaks ups when an audience is not around? He could have at least bought her an ice cream cone or a ride on a carousel, told her she was special, then got hit by a car.

I was so happy the relationship dissolved, but selfish jerk much?

*bringing the Dean hate alive again*

I've been watching S1 lately, and I must say how hard it is not to fall asleep when RD is on.

Especially S1. It was so cutesy annoying. And the season ending kiss that went on forever with the twirling cameras? I almost throw up every time accidentally I stumble upon it.
