I know I'm late but I just wanted to comment...

I think ASP is totally just talking and has no plans to write a movie. She wants publicity for her new show and she is using her old show to get it. In MANY interviews, she stated that she would not go back and the show wasn't "her baby" anymore.
Also, why would she wait a year or two?? After all the popularity dies down?
or is she waiting to see if her other show works?
I love her writing, but she kinda annoys me.

They better get some recognition but I'm sure they wont. I am curious as to what episode they enter for the show. And I am sad to say they shouldn't have moved to drama. With GA, Lost, Brothers and Sisters, Desperate Housewives (or is that comedy?) etc they really have strong competition.

I think Lauren and Kimberly chose well, particularly Lauren, she nailed it with those scenes with Chris. They were strong not only for Lauren but alos Lorelai, way better then the begging in the kitchen over the letter.

I don't know past years' submissions.
I think there are rules who's eligible to submit in each category (maybe according to number of episodes they appeared in) and then they or the studio/network decide if to submit them. But I'm not sure about that, maybe someone else knows the specifics.

The nominations will be announced this year on July 19 (probably early morning LA time).
The awards ceremony is scheduled for September 16.

Well it makes sense that Gilmore Girls would try and go out with a bang. This is their last time to be recognized by the Emmy folks. I would suspect that for the "best drama" catagory they'd submit Bon Voyage as it features everyone. Lauren and Alexis both rocked the episode too, not to mention it was Scott Patterson's time to shine. Scott Patterson himself should probably submit Bon Voyage or The Long Morrow.

I hope they get some recognition.
