I don't know what to say besides I don't trust Amy. But the whole thing is definitely a slap into Rosenthal's face. It's like let me wrap up every stories, Rosenthal wasn't able to do this...

ASP can't even say that because she hasn't even seen S7

To be quite honest I don't know what to think of this movie.. Is it ASP's way of finishing GG her way? If that's her thought, then she should have sticked with GG till the last season, or her way to get into a good grace with GG fans?

Honestly I can't see a reunion movie working, perhaps more on Lorelai's part of the story, but it would be more difficult if you see where Rory could be at, at that point.

In fact, if we were naming threads, that would be perfect for this one: GG News Thread: The Usual Bullhooey
Voting for it if we are allowed to

Well since season 8 would have been a light Rory season they can totally skim her role down in the movie as well. She didn't really seem very attracted to it now but give her the two years and she will be pleased someone even gives her a call

My first thought was it's Amy's way of getting attention again. Her new show sucks big time from what I have seen so far. I'll give it 3-5 episodes IF Fox even brings it on air in January

What bothers me is MA is likely just stirring up excitement when this is probably just not going to happen and I think that's really crummy of him - fans are still smarting about the undignified end of this once great show - I know it is his job, but GG fans have been really burned and I think a lot of people are going to end up being let down again when ASP lets them down - yet again.

As to "bullhooey" - I was typing that post on the last page and wanted to say something else and realized I couldn't and out came this word. I kinda like it - came out of nowhere and I think I'll be able to use in a myriad of situations where I can't use the real word.

I don't trust Amy so much now,but maybe I don't trust Ausiello even more! He got us hooked for 2 months and made us hope for another season and now he has this big news...I really don't know what to think! First, the show me the signed contract and then I can start believing them!
However,if this is true I hope they'll really show more about family dynamics! They really should show us more interaction between Lorelai and her parents without Rory being around and Kelly(Bishop)'s idea about Emily and Lorelai owing together the inn seemed quite a thing,IMO. BTW,I think that Rory should be in this movie. She is part of the family, she's one of the girls and I'd like to see her life after graduation. My only worry is that the writing could be really bad and the characters couldn't be multifaceted as they used to be in the first 4 seasons.

Yes it is a slap in his face, but I don't care. He screwed up big time. Granted Amy started it, but there would've been so many ways to save it.

When I told my friend about it she said "but the movie will be after the end of S7, not S6, right? I never even had the thought one could skip S7 altogether, but just that the thought is possible says a lot IMO - and not good things.

Wow....just read about the movie idea and I think it could be really cool. I don't want to get my hopes up but I definitely look forward to hearing more about it if it will happen.

first and foremost it's way too soon!

We just got done grieving over the "end".

I have finally come to terms with it. So a reunion, fine. But wait about 5 years!

Secondly, I also don't trust ASP. I think she has done the fans a disatisfaction when it comes to GG. Not saying I wouldn't be up for more GG but why would she say this now? Before she basically wiped her hands from it, said she doesn't watch it, and now she wants to rewrite it, her way???

I will believe it when I see it but I am in no way getting my hopes up about anything anymore when it comes to GG related topics.

BTW in other related GG news:

Actress Sherilyn Fenn expecting second child

Gilmore Girls actress Sherilyn Fenn, 42, best known as Audrey on Twin Peaks, is expecting her second child quite soon! Dad is boyfriend Dylan Stewart, and the baby will join big brother Myles, 14. *I guess this is why Anna all of a sudden disappeared from the scene*

This is precisely why I am SO excited about this possibility...Amy is the only one, IMO, who could have ended this series in the rightful way, and we might get a chance to actually see this! (AND A WEDDING! MAYBE?) I know there are billions of ASP haters out there, but I'm not one, and this news has made.my.day.

I agree I think ASP made a bad decision by not sticking with GG, I figure if she really loved the show she would have stayed no matter what.

I thought the finale was a slap in the face to the fans,we didn't get any of the storylines wrapped up in anyway. I was hoping Lorelai ,and her parents would come to an understanding, and just forget about all the past crap.

I think we the fans deserved better that's all I am saying.

That's what it seems like. It's obvious she cared about GG, but she gave up the right to have any say with the show when she and the network couldn't come to an agreement. If she wanted to continue working with the show in some way, then she should have. Other than to make more money from GG, I don't see the point of ASP even thinking about a movie.

I think she'd have a hard time getting all the actors though, so I'm not expecting anything more to come of this.

this is how I see it.

She said GG was like her baby. So would you give up on your baby? ....NO!

She should of just sucked it up and finished it out. What was the big freakin deal? It's as if she said GG wasn't good enough for her anymore and she had bigger and better things to do and didn't have time to waste it on this petty little CW show anymore *rolls eyes*

I am sorry but you stick it out to the end. You fullfill your contract obligations and then you move on if your not happy.

I am not excited about a movie bc I one don't think it will happen. I think if LG and AB were smart they'd stear clear of it bc it's sort of tacky if you ask me. Not taht I wouldn't be up for a reunion just not a movie. Maybe like a special, GG looks back at 7 years, have the whole cast together including the directors and see what they have to say about the show. I'd rather have that then a movie to tie up the loose ends.

Just leave well enough alone. It's over. We got what we got and you can't fully blame Rosenthal for what he did. I am sure if Amy never left the show would have ended fantastically but the fact of that matter is it didn't end the way we all had pictured it ending and therefore we felt we were betrayed. Do you think Rosenthal wanted to pick up Amy's mess and then get all the criticism he got throughout season 7? Do you think he went to bed each night going, "I'm going to mess with the fans and take them on a ride?" I am sure he had to put much thought into the show and probably stressed about how to make it work for everyone's sake.

The truth of the matter is you can't please everyone. If you make a movie some will say it's dumb and it didn't do enough for the show and why would Amy want to be involved now. If you don't do a movie people be upset that the show ended it's series with too many "loose ends" and feel a movie would clear it up. To me it would be a complete 50/50 split. Not that I am saying I wouldn't watch the movie or love to see my girls grace the t.v. but to me it's just a scenario that Amy is putting into our heads w/out really knowing what will become of it.
