From what I understand, and from reading various interviews with Amy, I don't believe it was necessarily by choice. Business is business and an agreement couldn't be reached. And it was an unfortunate loss for everyone related to Gilmore Girls, in my opinion.

OMG!! You go to the dentist and this is what you read when you come home and turn on the computer. A short S8 I still had, some, hope for (stupid, I know), but a reunion movie... [aussie accent on] Bloody H*ll [/aussie accent]

I'm torn. Of course I'd loooooove more, but then again. Those reunion movies does have a baaaaad rep. Then again.. I would looooove more. LOL

WandaRose: I agree on the campaigning thing. Everybody get to it. Those who already have (incl. me) and those who haven't. Ready, set, go!

hey, the Pretender got to have not one but TWO movies after the show and fans loved it and now hope for another one.. everything is possible...

I've seen both Dr. Quinn movies and thought they were ok, but then again. I really like(d) Dr. Quinn.
Well. I must say that this piece of news, even if it does come from MA, makes my stomach doing flip-flops, so I guess I'm in. LOL

Gilmore Girls might become the brady bunch ASP style I bet she had DP watch s7 and decided that like the Brady Brunch she can do several revisions and have us completely forget s7 and just gloss over DS because otherwise s7 is what she is left with - although maybe she is just talking through her mouth because of her new show and she wants publicity for it

Reunion movies hardly ever recapture the chemistry or cadence of the original show, but if anyone could pull it off, I bet Lauren & Scott could -- not to mention Kelly, Ed, Melissa, etc., and the townies. Plus, anything penned by ASP will feel 100 times more like Gilmore Girls than the rot DR came up with this year.

IA. Reunion movies are usually awful, and it's usually because they're cheesy and often times they're made 10 years too late. ASP penning a movie in the next two years, however, would be great. It would almost be like chemistry coming back, combining her, the actors, and the dialouge again.

No, i really think it could work, with some time jumps, sure why not.
If there is something we can do to make it happen, i would do it.

Personally, I just think this is all probably a bunch of the usual bullhooey from ASP - it gets her media attention and given that she has a new show next year, she'll probably do anything she can to get that attention.

I don't believe a word of this - if it were true, great. I would love to see her write such a thing - maybe after a few years off the show, she will have something new to create on the show. For me, though, I would want all the main townies back and of course, the main characters of R/E, L/L, Rory, Paris, Lane, Zach, Michel and Sookie.

I guess they could bring back Matt but if not, a new fellow for Rory.

I just don't see it though - building the entire set again, getting all the cast back - I'm a skeptic and I have to say, AB's reaction was something less than even mildly interested or enthusiastic - she didn't even bother saying something about the show having ended, her feelings about it - and, she hasn't even said a word yet about all that.

I hope I'm wrong - I'll be front and center if it happens.

I'm stunned that this idea is even being floated out there. If MA hadn't bothered to get all those follow-up quotes, I'd think it was a joke for sure. Why does ASP want to be seen looking backwards not forwards? Is it a sign that she wants the final word in GG or that RoJJ is in trouble? Or is it just a ploy to get GG fans positive to try RoJJ?

I hope the movie goes ahead. It would be wonderful to see the characters on the screen again. But I do have my doubts, remember all the talks of a Spike movie? Still waiting on that one.
