A Gilmore movie would be great, considering it would focus on LL and the Elder Gilmores.

But here's the thing - I don't trust Amy.

Invest in LL - yeah sure.
I'm not watching S7 - how to tie up lose ends then with a movie? I never believed it anyway - of course she watched it.
Last 4 words - does she even have them? Is this movie talk a trick to get out of revealing them?

I don't know, I would love for it to happen, if it would bring us closure, but then could she do a movie without drama? Without some terrible plotline? I'd like to see LL getting along with each other and Emily/Richard. Sure a fight between Emily/Lorelai would be good, but only if they make up afterwards and we can be sure they broke their circle.

But overall I just don't want to get my hopes up, because I learnt not to trust ASP. It would be awesome though.

It's been two weeks since the finale, and Mike's still finding a way to make the top picture in A/A be of the girls? He sure knows who's reading his column and for what.

I'm having trouble actually believing what MA said about a movie... *checks to make sure it's not April 1st*. Amy's the same woman who said that she can't watch the show and had trouble thinking she'd come back to write the finale because she'd have to continue someone else's story. How's this any different? Color me a bit confused.

Even if she wants this, will the studio ever be willing to put up the money to get not only the Girls but Amy back? I highly doubt it. I would love a movie to have one last thing penned by Amy and have the Girls go out a bit better, but I'm certainly not getting my hopes up.

And Mike really got a quote from Alexis? Impressive.

but hey.. if she wants to do it, who am I to stop her I'm for once definitely not going to fight with the idea

I think ASP, being the control freak that she is, just wants to have the last word in how the show ends, the way she always visioned and wanted it.

Maybe she now realizes it was a mistake to give the studio an ultimatum (like it was for Lorelai in Partings, and btw, everything the shrink told lorelai to do/decide sounded like it was the Palladinos talking about themselves to me) and maybe this is also a way of damage control for her, not only for how her creation ends but also for her reputation after leading the show to its destruction and bailing.

That chica is biting her own butt big time now Only for that season 7 and the crap we had to go through is worth it It's her own fault and I don't feel sorry for her.
First she dumps her baby then she says she is not interested in what happened this season and how it ended and now she wants to come back and give it a decent ending - that woman is as confusing as Lorelai was this season. I think she just wants to be everybody's darling again and she needs a back up when her crappy show fails on FOX

Maybe. It reminds me of her quote to EW, saying "If you love it, stay there and make sure no one else f---s it up." Maybe she really did learn that and is not only going to stop that on her show, but now she wants to fix it on GG? (By saying this, that she learned, I think I'm giving ASP too much credit). Maybe she really does just want to have it be HER who has the final say in how Gilmore ends.

I think Gilmore fans are never satisfied and will never be pleased. Fans continually say they want more, need more. For two weeks I've read how unsatisfied many fans were with the show recently and more specifically its series finale. I've seen campaigns to get 8th seasons, mini-series, or movies made. However, when there is a bit of a light shimmering in the distance that says a movie could happen, some fans are dissatisfied with that as well because they don't believe Amy Sherman-Palladino deserves to do it.

What do Gilmore fans want then? It's not for David Rosenthal to continue the story. It's not for Amy Sherman-Palladino to continue the story. I'm pretty certain fans don't want Lauren Graham writing any follow up scripts. So what do fans want? Fans say they want more, but they aren't willing to accept how that "more" might come about.

Very true gjoni. Not that she cares if we are happy or not (because if she did partings wouldn't have aired), she is more interested on her reputation and maybe her ego, to give her own goodbye to the show.

Who knows. The point is that MA would have a fit out of it and will torture us for who knows how much time.

Mmmhh maybe so many were unsatisfied by the ending because there was NO ending

I don't care who writes the movie IF there even is one. For all I care they can leave that even up to Jennie Snyder who wrote It's just like riding a bike since that's the only episode from this season worth watching over and over again.
It's just typical Amy coming out with that right now. I'm not even surprised by it. She has a lot of a%$ kissing to do and she should start with it soon.

That was a kind way of saying that they usually suck. I honestly can't think of one good reunion movie ever. Let's just say I'm not holding my breath regarding any of this.

I have to give Ausiello credit. He knows how to keep us interested in his column. I think it's fine to give the fans hope, and if it happens, of course, I'll watch. But I'm not gonna be disappointed if it doesn't happen.

I hope you're right with the control freak.

I never thought about it that way, but it makes perfect sense.

Just proves that Lorelai = Amy.

I'd love a movie - I just don't trust her that it will happen.

I don't know if this was posted here or not. It's not exactly news but, on Entertainment Weekly's website they have an article about Sean Gunn and his top 10 Gilmore episodes.

I'm more than willing to back a Gilmore movie. Even more so if it came from the creator herself. This was her vision and it should have always ended with Mrs. Palladino steering the ship. However, I think the only way any sort of reunion movie will happen is if the fans continue campaigning and are very, very vocal. Amy may want to continue her story and finish her story, but that doesn't mean Peter Roth or the network heads would allow her to. They need to know that the fanbase is there and that a two hour movie would be good for them, not just a drain on their cash flow.
