TV.com: Dr. Seuss forces ABC to change show name

Estate of "Cat in the Hat" author nixes name of ABC's Sam I Am. It's not often that a show gets a critic before it even airs (Cavemen an exemption), but a new comedy from ABC set to debut this fall has already become one celebrity's target. The estate of children's book author Dr. Seuss has taken exception to the show's name, Sam I Am, saying the title is lifted from the author's "Green Eggs and Ham," reports Variety. The show stars Christina Applegate (Married With Children) as a woman who suffers from amnesia. When she wakes up, she has no recollection of her past but quickly realizes that she was not at all nice to others. Henceforth, she tries to be good. In Green Eggs and Ham, the phrase "Sam I Am" is repeated frequently by the narrator, who at first despises the off-color breakfast grub. Apparently confident that Chuck Berry won't file any legal claims, ABC has renamed the show Samantha Be Good.

Who wants to talk about Evan Almighty when Lauren Graham is willing to dish on The Gilmore Girls BOB STRAUSS Special to The Globe and Mail June 20, 2007 LOS ANGELES -- Lauren Graham is starring in Evan Almighty, one of the most anticipated comedies of the summer. (She plays the wife of Steve Carell's latter-day Noah.) But all anyone wants to talk about is life after The Gilmore Girls. The beloved series about single mother Lorelai (Graham) and only child Rory (Alexis Bledel) just wrapped its seventh and last season, leaving many of the show's fans inconsolable. Graham, her long frame casually attired in new jeans and a ruffled, white top, commiserates. "Like anything, people who are fans of something feel sad when it's gone. It's like a person; if you have a beloved show and you've been loyal to it, it's like a team and you want it to be loyal to you. I think people felt like they didn't have the, you know, ceremony about it. That would've been nice." The last episode of the program, cancelled at the end of the season, did have a summing-up quality to it: Rory graduated from Yale and got a going-away party from the whole town as she headed out to become a political correspondent, while Lorelai and Luke (Scott Patterson) finally got back together. Had they had more warning that the end was coming, however, Graham assures us that something a little more special would have occurred. "I've just seen series end with a wedding so many times, and I didn't want it all tied up that neatly. Because the show is not an event-y show; it was quieter and smaller than that, [it was] about these little moments. What happened with Luke - that's what should have happened." Of course, talk of a Gilmore reunion movie began even before the last episode aired. At the moment, Graham doesn't even want to think about it. "It's not that I'd had enough," she says. "It was a very difficult show to do in terms of production. It stressed the two of us working a lot, and there was no way to do it any differently. The language meant that days were always long, the scenes were long. No matter how smoothly everything ran, there was no easy way to do it. Not that something has to be easy, but this show was a particular kind of bear." And there's been no rest yet. Graham is already making a movie opposite Matthew Perry (with whom the unattached actress was once romantically linked) and is scheduled to go right into another one as soon as that's finished. "I've only been home for, like, two weeks since the show ended," Graham says. "I still have boxes in the garage from the dressing room that I haven't unpacked. So, in many ways, I really don't know what the show being over feels like yet because I just kind of went to work. "I'm really glad about that. I thought my biggest problem was going to be, 'How do I fill my days?' " Guess we should say something about the movie at hand. Any messages worth taking from the biblically inspired Evan Almighty? "Just sort of, be kind and believe in love and all that kind of stuff," Graham, sounding so Lorelai, shrugs. click

I'm guessing a earlier reconciliation (one or two episodes earlier) and then 'maybe' a proposal in the end. Not much more than that.

MA is still an idiot and I'm still succesful in avoiding LOST spoilers. I'm getting quite good at it. ( Of course one the biggest newspapers here had to bring over a huge spoiler from the last episode this previous season before I saw it. Stupid!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

No to be bitter or anything but I think a few of us would like a better wrap up to the L/L sl and if any other couples need a wedding I'd say (moo) L/L needed more that a on and off couple that just get back together for 2 min sex and childish twitter, and a man only there for his daughter when he wants the mother and things are not going well or some dead relative leaves him some money.

And from what I saw of the latter seasons, it turn out like just any other tv show with soapy plotline so a wedding to neatly wrap up thing after seven seasons when we'll more than like not be seeing any other GG show again is not so bad. Let just say if all books end the way GG ends well...

And the brake-up of R/L what the hell was that about. I'm still scratching my head about who pull that plotline out of their a$$. But then again Luke's been ranting to Lorelai about everything in his life for almost seven seasons and when they became engage he couldn't rant to her about some unkown kid coming into his Diner and pulling his hair out.

In my opinion the Writers lost it.
