some information about finale and GG movie from new Lauren´s interview.

Quote:
Question: I think there's a rumour that as one of the producers of Gilmore Girls, you weren't very happy with the original finale script?
Graham: I wasn't. I don't know how anybody heard that but I think the show always kind of went back and forth between being kind of more broad, more about the town, wacky and plot driven and then more sentimental and more about the characters and the relationships. And to me the original finale was about more activity, more building a tent and had a lot of scenes of activity. I felt like I wanted something where we at least gave a nod, a moment, a picture, you know, even if it was just panning across the faces of all the amazing actors who were the life of this town. I loved Sally Struthers on that show, I loved Rose Abdoo who played Gypsy who was like the town mechanic. All that stuff is what gave the colour to the show. So I just felt that it could be more heartfelt.

Question: Do you think that it would have been dramatically different if original creator Amy Sherman had stayed with it?

Graham: Yeah and you know I wish she had contributed even in her capacity - even if just because her name is still on it. But I think I understand, she's a particular kind of person and for her she could only do it her way, so I understood that. But consequently we didn't have any of her in that last year and while that changed to some degree the amount of input I could have I think it was an uneven way to end. It's like six years it was one person's vision and then one year it was different. And also one year is not enough in TV time to kind of...

Question: Bring your own voice to something?

Graham: It really isn't, especially on a show like that.

Question: What do you think about the whole reunion TV movie thing that's been floating around with Amy as writer/director?

Graham: I don't know, you know, I don't have a compelling need to do it. But I understand and I really respect and I have fond feelings for people who would like that and I know Kelly Bishop would like to do something, who played my mom. I wonder if it isn't like when you break up with somebody and then you try to get back together. How often does it work out?

Question: You tell me.

Graham: I don't know. I've done it and it doesn't usually work. But there are no rules about this show. I could never have foreseen that it would have stayed on this long, that it would have done what it did. So if Amy wrote a script I would absolutely consider it and if we all wanted to do it. I think it would be a fun thing to do.

Chill more, girl!

Lauren Graham fast-talks her way out of TV and into a string of movies

BY J.R. GRIFFIN

Lauren Graham

Now that television's "Gilmore Girls" is no more, actress Lauren Graham has moved on to "Evan Almighty."

Lauren Graham hasn't watched the "Gilmore Girls" series finale that aired several weeks back. But it's not that she's in denial about the end of the CW television dramedy that put her charming-sexy-cool nature on our radar. She just has no time.

"I basically finished the show, went on a little trip to see family on the East Coast and then started working," says Graham. "People would stop me in the middle of the street and say stuff to me about the show, and I was, like, 'Oh, yeah, that ended!' It's like things just swept me forward."

Graham spent seven years as fast-talking single mom Lorelai Gilmore, spouting pop culture references while navigating a relationship with her daughter (Alexis Bledel), her parents and the pleasant wackiness of the Stars Hollow townsfolk. Now Graham has shelved Lorelai's omnipresent cup of joe and is moving on. First on the agenda: make up for playing a single mom all those years.

In "Evan Almighty," opening Friday, she plays the wife of Steve Carell's Evan Baxter, a man on a mission from God to build an ark. Next up is a part in the dark comedy "Laws of Motion," as Matthew Perry's buttoned-up wife. And then it's on to a role as Greg Kinnear's better half in a film about the guy who invented the intermittent windshield wiper.

"I'm doing a wife world tour," Graham says wryly. And after that? Who knows? And that's exactly how she wants it.

"The only downside to having a steady job on TV [is knowing what's next]," she says. "I think for all actors, there's some adrenaline in not knowing what's coming next. So getting back to that unknown thing, I'm sure, will drive me crazy soon - but for now, it feels really nice."

In "Evan Almighty," "I'm the straight man, really," Graham says, a change from the tailor-made part of saucy Lorelai. "You don't want to play your personality all the time."

But how do you shake that off? Graham started doing it with a memorably frisky turn in 2003's "Bad Santa" as a bartender with a thing for guys in Santa suits (which the movie's storefront St. Nick, Billy Bob Thornton, enjoyed). Earlier this year, she was one of Diane Keaton's three grown daughters in "Because I Said So." But her current slate of wives incorporate a Graham-ness we've grown accustomed to.

"That's okay," she says. "Movie star people get hired to do the thing they do best. And it's only your Nicole Kidmans or Renee Zellwegers who are doing stuff where they're really transforming. But they got there by doing the thing you loved about them first. And then they earned the right to do something else."

She's working on that earning thing, all while the Gilmore ghost fades, little by little.

"The biggest challenge of 'Laws of Motion' was doing it with no sarcasm, no Lorelai, no 'comment,' " she says. "Just the challenge of taking out the little habits that I've gotten used to using - that's how you stretch and grow."

And since Graham can't resist a good tangent, we'll gladly follow when she jokes that she might take up ... singing. "I'm totally doing a musical, y'all!" she says in Britney-ese. "Probably 'Anything Goes.' But I can't sing that. Or 'Funny Girl.' Well, I can't sing that, either. I need an easy musical."

But we love the sarcasm and the Lorelai-ness!

Thanks for the interview Cappuccino

I really love that KB feels that Lorelai/Emily aren't done as well. I hope she convinces LG to do the movie if Amy ever really thinks about one.

Thanks for those interviews.

I'm glad some actors are still up to it and want to make the movie.

Thanks for those interviews. I really liked hearing about Kelly. It's interesting that some actors from GG still really think there's more do to. It'll be interesting to see, when Jezebel starts up and ASP probably gives more interviews, whether the movie idea is something she's really serious about.

I really hope ASP wasn't just joking about the movie to get some attention for her new show!

Thanks for the interviews! It's nice to finally get some substantial interviews on the show and the movie. I hope Emily convinces her as well, Mareike!

Thanks for the interviews! The more time passes since the end of GG, the more substantial are the interviews…

Yup...I remember someone on the spoiler board said it would probably be this way and I didn't understand why but I do now. I think it'll be interesting to see what Lauren and Alexis have to say after they've had a few movies under their belts, etc. Perhaps they'll even miss GG...?

If you're searching for Lauren Graham interviews and clips, blaab and I uploaded most of the stuff Canopus had on his site and also added some new clips.

Smiling for no reason - that's her job!

I'm not sure if it belongs in here but Darren Lynn Bousman gave in interview regarding his new movie Saw 4 in which Scott will star and he mentions him.

Quote:
Q: Can you tell us anything about the new characters?

BOUSMAN: There are two new characters which I don’t think has been announced yet but I’ll drop this one. There’s two characters, Perez and Strong, who are our two people that we’re following on this one a lot. With Jigsaw we’ve always had cops somewhere in it and again, this issue of cops, I didn’t want to play them as cops. I didn’t want to do that. We’ve seen that story. So I tried to take a different spin on that and the cops [angle] is secondary to who they are. We’ve actually focused on these quirky characters. We have Scott Patterson in it and Scott Patterson is from the "Gilmore Girls” and I really knew nothing about him prior to my first meeting with him. The guy is ****ing insane and great.

We never really had people ad lib on the Saw films because it wasn’t that kind of platform. Well Scott Patterson, the first day he shows up, he says, ‘I’m going to do something a little different here.’ And I’m like, ‘Alright.’ We yell ‘action’ and all of a sudden he started improvising and it was gold. It was like the best stuff I’d ever seen and he’s insane. It really works well for his character considering we haven’t seen him in a Saw film before. There’s a whole new life to this one which is exciting.
