Thanks for that, I have to wonder how much of the $175 mil went on the last 5 minutes of special effects?

From AA:

Question: I just read that Scott Patterson is going to be playing the dad on the new CW comedy Aliens in America. How do you feel about this?— Leslie Brown
Ausiello: I'm ecstatic. Aliens in America was a laugh riot. This is great news.

At least we'll get to see Scott. It sounds like a good show.

Yup. It's going to be a half hour comedy that airs with all of the CW's other comedies. Check out the sneak peak videos, if you can, on the CW's site. It does look pretty funny, but I wouldn't call it the "riot" MA did.

Interesting. I just assumed that, given the subject matter, it would be a drama.

Any SatC fans here?

From Ausiello's blog:

Quote:
Exclusive: Major Sex and the City Movie News!

It's the climax we were all hoping for: Reliable sources tell me that the long-gestating Sex and the City feature film is at long last a go. According to my spies, New Line Cinema is on the verge of closing a deal to distribute the pic in association with HBO. Shooting is slated to begin in mid-September with Sex symbols Sarah Jessica Parker, Cynthia Nixon, Kristin Davis and, yes, Kim Cattrall, reprising their signature roles. An official announcement could come as early as next week. In the meantime, post your (sure-to-be-orgasmic) reactions below!
Any such news, gives me a glimmer of GG TV movie hope ....

SATC did end quite a few years ago ... I suppose that means a GG reunion is not an impossibility. Yet I think it's still not as likely as a SATC one.

The articles last summer said the animals were costly, also the delays in shooting. I think it might have been weather that caused the delays, but it was paying the huge cast including animals for extra days that strained the budget. I don't remember all the details but they didn't mention special effects as a factor.

Are the special effects computer-generated?

Who got more money - the animals or the cast?

While most of the animals where real a lot of work was spent in putting then into the same scenes 'cause the would never happen in real life, but also the CGI for the flood would have cost a lot.
