On the podcast, which was recorded late because of technical difficulties, they mention SP getting the AiA show, and both Ausiello and their guest participant, Rochelle something (sorry, didn't catch her name), loved the pilot they'd seen (pre Scott) and are pretty positive and excited about this show.
I hope they're right - for SP's sake.

Well I didn't like what I saw and I can't wrap my mind around Scott being in a sitcom. It is just too weird. I don't know. I want to see him in something real but thanks for brining it over.

Ugh I just went and looked up clips, it was so not what I expected. I thought it was some action packed, 1 hour, show about aliens. Instead it's a low budget looking comedy where Scott Patterson gets to play a second hand character. I didn't really like what I saw.

I've seen the preview on CW site the one before Scott joins the cast but it doesn't seem so bad not a masterpiece but something cool to watch !

^ I also remember reading something like that! I don't think she said it specifically that Amy not being there made her not want to come back, but she hinted at it a few times. So, I think the fact that Amy was gone was definitely one of the reasons that reduced her will to come back. And considering the mess DR did with the show, I don't blame her...

I cannot believe I just watched his vodcast again. Gah. He's so awful. And he just had to put the Gilmore stuff at the very end.

I remember that as well, but took it more that they'd needed more than one year to get back on track.

She often said it got more laid back now and it's nice not having to be word perfect so I don't think she was longing for Amy.

Depends what's meant by "on track". What LG said:

She did say that, so did SP in his lunch with Sassy. I think it was a given that shooting became more relaxed under DR.

LG contradicts herself above, and it's likely many of the actors felt the same ambivalence - they missed ASP's voice and input, but no one appears to have missed her endless perfectionist retakes.

It's funny how LG wanted ASP to have creative input in the finale but also talks about one year being not enough time to change the direction of the show. Which is it? Especially since LG has also said she saw a real choice between Christopher and Luke, and had to go back and rewatch the series to see that it was written to be Luke.

Snyder who wrote It's just like riding a bike did a pretty good job in bringing the old Gg feeling back. At least in my eyes. That was classic Gilmore girls. Luke and Lorelai like they were during season 4 - just perfect. I loved it. Great banter and jokes. The dirty and a real jeez were missing but hey you can't have it all right and especially after that season.

They all should have gone back and watch the whole show during the summer vacation. Skip season 6 and you got a clue about how the show was rolling but I bet that stupid season was the only all watched again. Would at least explain all the crap that came out of Rosenthal's head.

That's good to know. Hopefully the show will be successful. It doesn't sound like something I'd enjoy, but it's great that the pilot got a good review.

You could see the change for S6 to S7 in the writing, it was more natural in S7, but is that a good thing? Lot of "you know" and stuff that Amy would never write!
