its a mute point really cause lets face a movie will never happen...and thanks to the stellar job she did with JJ I doubt she'll be wanting too...I've never held asp t that much esteem and if she think that LC are perfect than she should have written Chris with an iota of dignity and backbone rather than as a selfish pratt.

I still think a movie is a chance but would she really want to piss off fans knowing how badly S7 was received by fans and critics? and in what reality would Lorelai and Chris get back together after how they spilt and the ending L&L had sealed with a kiss!

Yeah, after looking back at it, and the fact that it was said later and not in the original post, I'm not taking the comment seriously at all. It actually seems kinda funny now. The show NEVER written that way, and ASP said in multiple interviews that LL were the ones to root for, even if she was seriously cracked on how she told the story.

- Made Luke into an idiot neglecting Lorelai
- Had 'pod' Lorelai cheat on Luke

David
- had Lorelai forget Luke's love
- bad mouth Luke
- date Dopey
- marry Dopey
- living with Dopey

Plus all the stuff with pissing of the Rory fans over Logan and even the Chris fans (yes there were a few) were also pissed off.

So while Amy broke up L&L David did much worse in a lot of respects but his one saving grace was a last minute kiss and a 'maybe' reunion which knowing the show could have gone any way in S8 or a movie.

Not to get too deep into the topic (okay bad choice of words )

But IMO the sex with Dopey is not what set Luke off to leave Lorelai standing there, who can really be upset over 2 minutes . It was how Lorelai lied about how she was feeling about them and April and how she didn't want to talk to him about it and instead went to Chris.

Like I've been doing in my Sliding Doors fic, if L&L had talked earlier and not been apart for months then they would have seen they still loved each other and IMO tried to work things out. Plus with them talking then Chris would have been out of the picture romantically/emotionally for Lorelai.

DSR could have had Chris still hanging around to fulfil his contract and maybe even be their for Rory once in his life.
