We had a great week of Lauren news.

looks like no one brought it up here. Nate the Lizaphile posted on LG board a podcast with Lauren last week. It´s mostly about a movie Birds of America but Lauren mentioned GG few times.

I love that interview, listening to it once a day. I can't believe she's watching her vacuum robot cleaner just like Lorelai.

I don't know if this has been discussed on a different thread, but had Gilmore Girls been shifted a year up and THIS been its 7th season, how do you think the writers strike would have affected the negotiations for a season 8? I think it's interesting, because without the ability to wrap up all the storylines this season (assuming the strike continues for a few more weeks), wouldn't they have HAD to make an 8th season?

Interesting spec, I really don't know what may have happened or want to think what would be if we were stuck mid season. It all comes down to contract, some are for X number of eps other a time limited and some are both.

I've been thinking about that alot lately, if we did have GG right now, how would the strike affect the show but it didn't occure to me that we could have possibly gottan a season 8 after all if the show had been shifted a year. A cooler way of looking at it though would be if we had gottan a season 8 after all.... we'd possibly have gottan a 9th season.

However it also could have worked out differently like GG could have done what Heroes is doing and just continued on with the season they were on whenever the strike ended.

But you never know.

Yes I agree it sucks, I have a few shows that are now on Hiatus right now because of this strike and we don't know when the shows'll be back but in a way it's funny. Now everyone has to suffer along with the GG fans who don't have their show anymore.

I'm glad the strike wasn't last year. The better eps came in the 2nd half - and I bet they'd just wrapped it up with less closure.

Question: I miss seeing Lauren Graham every week on Gilmore Girls! Any news on what she's up to? — Kelsey Ausiello: She was hanging out with bud Matthew Perry at the just-wrapped Sundance Film Festival, where they were supporting their new flick, Birds of America. A little birdie passed along some interesting tidbits from the film's press kit. Like this quote from Lauren on how she became involved in the project: "I was in New York and full of conflicted feelings about Gilmore Girls coming to an end. We'd just shot the final episode and I still hadn't even become used to not having to be up at six every morning. So I was at dinner in New York when my phone rang with the news that [director] Craig Lucas wanted to meet me the next day. The meeting went great and we started shooting two weeks later." She added that, from a production standpoint, Birds was "very different" than GG. "Gilmore Girls was very rat-a-tat-tat, a high-energy show with lots of language. We'd shoot nine, 10, 11 pages a day, but we always had time — time to rehearse, talk, prepare. On this movie, we worked insanely quickly: I remember hearing 'rolling!' the second I'd set foot on set." Link

I don't see the problem.

He said it came from the press kit. Would most fans have seen it otherwise? Would you? I wouldn't have. Heh. (Not that I really care what LG says any more. But some peeps still do. It's of legitimate interest to some of his readers. Why shouldn't he share?)
