well season 8 was a done deal. they all had contracts and went into their hiatus with the knowledge there would be an 13 episode seasn 8. they had save jobs yes and storylines were still unwrapped. so i'm sure they're pretty upset. DR already had the storyline ready

the CW canceled it last minute.

and now we'll get farmers wife on thusday nights how stupid can one network be. i so hope they wont survive even a year.

I'm happy to have their opinions; I really am. I just find it hard for (yes, I am a die-hard fan of hers) Lauren Graham. She's the one that supported the series finale episode, she's basically taking the blame completely alone for the not-return of season 8 (cause Alexis is not talking) and therefore, needs to justify the reason the show is ending.
Oh, I know where you're coming from and I share your frustration.

Glad we're on the same path. There has been so much LG hate going on these past days and week; it hurt me to read all of it. Big hands up to LG for actually coming forward, doing interviews, appearing on Ellen to underline the finale was airing that same night...

I wouldn't say outraged, but they did lose their jobs and it had nothing to do with them. Negotiations didn't involve them. All they could do was sit back and wait.
So if they have sign (like SP) does he get direct compensation? I did hear Warner Bros is looking for a new part for him, I hope he gets something good.

ETA - I'd have to admit LG was right for the most part it was a good season final, I just don't like the last minute L&L hook up when it could so easily have been after the song or in the car yard.

Perfect timing of the CW wasn't it ? Lauren started promoting her new movie and boom they announce the end of the show. They knew when she has to talk to people they will ask her about Gilmore girls now that it's ending. I can understand why Lauren reacted the way she did in some interviews. They pulled the rug right under her and she didn't even have the time to really realize it. I mean she got the call over dinner on Wednesday night and the Ellen interview was taped on Thursday afternoon or was it Friday ? I can't really remember but she had hardly any time to breathe and if she herself thought it was not the end well the CW screwed her over (which I believe anyway but that's just me). So I can understand when she says I'm glad it's over. If you got a kick in you pretty butt twice for you work I would tend in that direction as well.

ITA Cappuccino, Lauren is always gonna put a good spin on the season final (or any episode, lets not forget her comments about Partings) and as I side I tend to agree with her for the most part. The ep was much better than I had hopped for, even with the lack of a real ending for L&L.

Lauren said right there in that interview what she thinks about the season ehm series finale: It's a great season finale and yeah a nice series finale.
Nice = it stinks. A friend said to me: Ah yeah right nice the little sister of crap

She is the lead, the face of the show so she had to be behind it. Wouldn't look good if she turns her back on the show now wouldn't it. Sometimes you just have to read between the lines

Lauren added her own adjustments to the script, along with David Rosenthal. It would be weird IMO if Lauren wouldn't stand by the finale. She helped work on it.

Live CW Upfront Coverage

11:01 The Pussycat Dolls are performing "Doncha you wish your girlfriend was hot like me." All I think while watching them bump and grind up there is "you bitches may've killed Veronica!"

11:05 CW president (and honorary "Girl") Dawn Ostroff takes the stage and welcomes us to the second CW upfront.

11:07 Last year was about establishing the network. This year is about not going out of business finding new hits.

11:09: Dawn's diving right into the sked, starting with Wednesday night. ANTM is staying put at 8 pm. Tyra's in the house!

11:10 Tyra introduces a highlight reel from Cycles 7 and 8.
11:11 While the clips play, let me take a moment to remind Mars fans that a press conference with ostroff will immediately follow the upfront. And she better have good news for us.

11:13 back to the sked, Josh Schwartz's Gossip Girl follows ANTM at 9 pm. "This show is going to to for NYC what The O.C. did for Orange County," Ostroff predicts.

11:16 We're getting our first glimpse of Gossip... And OMG, Kristen bell really is narrating the thing. (exclusive scoopbit; Schwartz told me moments ago on the red carpet that Kristen will likely be replaced if VM gets picked up.)

11:20 Wow, it feels like Kelly Rutherford — the mom on the show — went from ingenue to matriarch overnight.

11:21 Pretty people. Bitchy dialogue. Kelly Rutherford. I'm hooked.

11:23 The cast walks on stage. they're doing a little shtick in character — and Kristen's narrating that too. It's almost like she's standing backstage with a microphone. Kristen, come out and tell us everything is going to be OK!!!!

11:29 On to thursday, Smallville and Supernatural are staying put. Ditto Friday with Smackdown.

11:34 On to Sunday, and two new quasi reality shows no one will watch: CW Now and Online Nation.

11:36 CW ad sales boss Bill Morningstar is doing a spiel on content wraps. I hope someone acknowledges the passing of Gilmore Girls. A video tribute would be nice.

11:40 Onto Sunday and the new South African-set family drama Life Is Wild. And yes, they are really shooting this thing in South Africa. At least that's what the cast told me on the red carpet.

11:43 Life sucks. I give Life two weeks.

11:45 Dawn announces that she's "strategically holding One Tree Hill until midseason." She also confirms what we already knew; the show will flash forward four years. The missing years will be filled in via online diaries. Yippee!!!

11:48 Midseason reality competish Crowned — which features mother and daughter teams competing in a beauty pageant — could be fun. I said could.

11:50 Onto Monday, Everybody Hates Chris kicks things off at 8. Dawn breaks news! Creator Chris Rock will guest star in the season premiere as a guidance counselor.

11:57 New 8:30 comedy Aliens in America looks shockingly funny!

11:59 Girlfriends and The Game return from 9-10.

12:01 Onto Tuesday, Beauty and the Geek replaces gilmore girls at 8. Oooh, Dawn finally brings up Gilmore. Grab your tissues! "While we're sad to see Gilmore Girls go," she says "the truth is Beauty and the Geek actually performed better among young adult viewers." WTF!? That's the tribute?! Unbelievable!

12:05 New 9 pm "thrillomedy" Reaper has a little Buffy-Supernatural vibe going on. Me like. Added bonus; it costars Invasion sidekick Tyler Labine and the dude who killed Laura Palmer.

12:08 To close the show, one of the Dolls — don't ask me which one — comes back onstage and performs the "world premiere" of the CW's new theme song, "Get Into It."

12:13 Upfront over. Press conference assembling. Stand by for the final word on Veronica Mars! My heart is racing!

I've posted the whole thing. Nothing is deleted or out of context. That's their farewell. Frakkin unbelievable.

It's kind of weird how she said that, not at all respectful to the show in any way.

Other somewhat GG related news:
- No 'Gravity' show for Matt, CW didn't pick it up.
- Amy Sherman Palladino's show 'The Return of Jezebel James' will premiere in January.

Here's the show synopsis:

Quote:
THE RETURN OF JEZEBEL JAMES (working title)
(Wednesdays, 8:30-9:00 PM ET/PT)

Can two estranged sisters, polar opposites, live together when one agrees to carry the other’s baby? SARAH THOMKINS (Parker Posey, “For Your Consideration,” “Best in Show”) is a bright, optimistic, determined woman who seems to have it all – a great job as a children’s book editor, an eager-to-please assistant, BUDDY (Michael Arden), who helps keep her life together, and a no-strings-attached personal relationship with successful businessman MARCUS SONTI (Scott Cohen, “Kissing Jessica Stein”). Nevertheless, as her father, RONALD (Ron McLarty, “Law & Order”), is constantly pointing out, something is missing from Sarah’s life. Her hard work may garner accolades, but when she goes home at night, she is very much alone. All too aware that she isn’t getting any younger, Sarah decides to have a baby on her own and gets the shock of her life when the doctor tells her she can’t get pregnant. Having no concept of the term “can’t,” Sarah wills herself to execute a plan. With nowhere else to turn, Sarah sets up a meeting with her quirky younger sister, COCO (Lauren Ambrose, “Six Feet Under”), and proposes a plan for Coco to carry her baby. They haven’t seen each other in a while, and Coco refuses to go along with such a huge favor. But something happens when Sarah mentions that she’s turned Coco’s imaginary childhood friend, Jezebel James, into a children’s book. Even though she doesn’t say so out loud, Coco is clearly touched, and, realizing that her current living situation – sharing a couch with her friend’s sick dog – isn’t working out, Coco decides that this just might be worth a try.

I am curious about Jezebel James, i think i will watch it, just to see ASP's writing, to see if it is same or different from GG.
But I'm not a Posey fan, or any other cast member for that matter

Not a Parker Posey fan at all. Even though I would be curious at what ASP and DP could do with another series , that would prevent me from even trying it out .
