I thought the rule was no spoilers but warn people about spoilers in links.

I'm re-adding my news, which btw, is spoiler free, I can't guarantee that when you link to TV Guide that it's spoiler free.

Some more news from "Ask Ausiello" which looks promising for a Season 8! Yahoo!

Question: I'm excited to hear about the possible shortened eighth season of Gilmore Girls. Got anything new to report on that front?- Heather Ausiello: At the show's wrap party Sunday night, everyone and their sister was talking about the short order as if it was a done deal. The only sticking point appears to be the number of episodes. I'm hearing 13, but I imagine the CW is trying to stretch that to at least 16. An official announcement is imminent.

Ratings:

8 pm/ET With 25.86 million total viewers, American Idol was down a hair from last Tuesday. Dateline (5.08 million) put up typical numbers despite a Virginia Tech angle, while Gilmore Girls (3.83 mil) was down 600K from its last, forever-ago fresh eppy.

I guess this was the first ep after the hiatus.. Some shows have a lower rating after a hiatus, don't they?! Hopefully it will be up next week!

People probably forgot GG was new and when it's been on hiatus for so long you sometimes just lose track. And now that AI is getting down to the last contestants GG is def. going to have it's competition.

thanks for the news ....I am keeping my fingers crossed for a season 8 or a shortened season - something is better then nothing.

Gilmore Girls consistently gets lower ratings the first episode back after a hiatus.

This one was a doozy, because it was widely if unofficially announced they'd be back April 10th, then that changed. Viewers who don't hang out daily on message boards, tend to get lost.

Heck, I originally found this board by googling for schedule and episode numbers, after daughter and I got confused about the storyline by a particularly bad mix of reruns and new episodes.

So HBM was the 2nd worst rating of the season, hope that's just the hiatus thing and numbers pick up in the last 4 eps.

BTW some areas will not see GG until Saturday 'cause of sport so the final numbers should be a little better. I hope they break 4 million.

It was edited. Then it was reposted in this thread and edited again because it did, in fact, have spoilers. Saying that they're not spoilers doesn't make it true. Funny how that works.
