One thing is certain - DH has dominated proceedings in the supporting cats so it'll most likely follow through in lead actress and Kelly didn't get a nomination in supporting.
But personally I don't care who gets nom'd from now on my favs just got nom'd against each other in the Best Supporting Actress (film) cat so I'm very content! ETA: Sorry folks as predicted, GG was totally snubbed - Jack and Bobby got a nom for WB though for Christine Lahti. __________________

Robbed, robbed , robbed, robbed ****ing ****ing robbed. Desperate Housewives is the new Sex and in the City. Ugh. If the Emmys end up like this in September, I am boycotting awards season. This is just so ridiculous. Articles of bewilderment will commence now...TV Gal, go right ahead!
On a happier not, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind! Hurrah! |

Jesus Christ!
What's wrong with these people?! What?? Don't they have eyes? And ears? Ah, what the heck, they’ve always had their little pets during the past years. GG RULES! I agree on Eternal Sunshine, though. __________________

Yeah they always like to throw one out of left-field - that didn't surprise me though.
I thought just imagine if GG had submitted themselves in that Drama cat instead - they could have gotten a nom *sigh* Ever since they've been in comedy they've struck out in everything except for that one Emmy win and GS noms. __________________

It is really all about the network. The WB really gets no respect. Christine Lahti (and Treat Williams, last season) is a respected actress who has been around for many years. Add to that the fact that Jack and Bobby was critically received and that is why she was nominated. Lauren Graham did get a nomination a few years ago but that was when GG was new and was still submitted as a drama.

they are all well at least Nip/Tuck got nominated, something to cheer me up a little... but why did DH got 3(!!!) nominations in the actress category... they are only on like 1 season...argh! I mean Lauren is better than all 3 together *grrrrr* __________________

comments on the nominations:
1) Yet again Best Foreign Language Film Film outclasses Best Motion Picture (do films in a different language not "move" or something?). This time by a wider margin than ever. A Very Long Engagement and Motorcycle Diaries are great films. The Aviator might redeem the category. I'm looking forward to seeing it. 2) Kinda like David Carradine being nominated for Best Supporting actor just because I like him. Gotta love those old Kung Fu re-runs. 3) Best Drama. Not bad choices except I wish they had given The Wire a nod. Best series on HBO. Deadwood is excellent. 4) Best Actress in a Drama. Jennifer Garner? Was she even the best actress on Alias? Second best? Third best? 5) Best actor in a Drama. Can't argue with any of them except for Spader. He was good on The Practice and is enjoyable in Boston Legal. But he's not even in the same league as the other nominees. Glad they gave some recognition to Denis Leary and Rescue Me which I enjoyed more than even Nip/Tuck. 6) Best Comedy. I'm thrilled Arrested Development got a nod. Entourage is overrated. Will & Grace / Sex in the City had their best years LONG ago ... which usually means guarenteed Emmy Awards . And I'll admit it. I like Desperate Housewives. But there is room for other worthy shows in that list. 7) Best Actress in a Comedy. I like the Desperate Housewive people. But all three is overkill. I would've just gone with Marcia Cross and made room for others. And why Sarah Jessica Parker in Sex in the City? She was the worst character on the show and sucked oxygen out of it whenever she appeared on screen. 8) Best Actor in a Comedy. Matt Leblanc (huh?). Charlie Sheen I don't like either having attempted to watch that show on a few occasions. On the other hand. No quarrel with Jason Bateman, Zach Braff, Larry David, or Tony Shalhoub. 9) Mini-series. No reason The Lion in Winter shouldn't win. I did enjoy Something the Lord Made. 10) Supporting Actress. I don't think Nicolette Sheridan deserved a nomination. Kelly Bishop on the other hand should've been nominated. __________________
