But that doesn't mean there will be extras on it, right?

I guess, not necessarily.
The article says:

"Many", not "all".

I wonder if ASP still has to be involved/consulted.
And LG said in her chat on goldderby last month, that the actors don't get paid or make profits from DVD sales, therefore they tend to decline requests for commentary and such, as a way of protest against this unfair arrangement.

It might be an unfair arrangement, but they could get it added to their contracts. I don't know how all that works, but I know when Seinfeld was preparing for the DVD release, some of the actors were upset they weren't getting paid as much to do commentary and other stuff.

It is unfair that they don't get paid from DVD sells but shouldn't they want to do commentaries for their fans? I mean they thousands per episode so can't they give up one hour to do commentary?

Thanks for bringing that over. I really just want to know when S7 will come out so I can complete my DVD collection and move on. I have all the DVDs, and as long as the season 7 DVDs come out on their own, too, I can't imagine why I'd really want a full series box set. They'd have to have some serious extras to make me want to buy them.

Im still determining if I want to buy S7, I have the other 6 but S7 just was so painful fo rme, half of it with Chris and then ruining my fav couple... I probably will still get it to have the full collection but I wont be watching it over and over like I do Seasons 2-6!

Yeah certainly less eps who are worth rewatching, that's for sure. BTW did you mean S2-6 or S1-6?

How many here who have spent money on the seasons so far would pay for the same content just to have it in one box?

But no matter how much you get paid would you go back to do more work on a job just for the fans when you know you can get paid to do new work? I bet no one here would.

I hope future contracts include payment for DVD and other work. I don't know how it works either but one show I love is Dr Who and they have a full 45 min behind the scene to go with every episode that airs, is it much to ask for a single hour of behind the scenes stuff from our favourite shows?

Here's another article about the DVDs: link

Quote:
At $258.82, Gilmore Girls carries all seven seasons of the show packed into a collectible retro doll case. It features a 60-page booklet, among other items.

Me too. It's not the Chris stuff for me though -- the season was just bad. Do I really need it on DVD? And would I even watch it? Plus it's all on my TiVo at school.

Thanks but wow high cost if you already have the first 6 seasons!

I would like to know what the extras are.

Maybe they'll release a copy on HD-DVD (or Blueray, which ever Warner Bros are in with) at an even higher cost.

They do this knowing there are some fans who will buy it even if they already have copies. I was even considering buying the local copies so they matched the S5-6 I got here in Australia.

I'm taking this news over to the DVD thread if that's okay...

ETA - Warner is in the Blue-ray camp but
iTWire - Warner Bros to release ‘Total HD’ disc that works in both Blu-ray and HD DVD players
