Holding contracts are with studios. Warner Bros. could have approached MC after GG was canceled and offered him a holding contract. That just means they want to place him on a WB show. Warner Bros shows often appear on other networks. The CW is a network and probably wouldn't have MC under a holding contract, now that I think of it. The problem with holding contracts is that actors usually can't work except on shows produced by that studio. They could do movies, but not tv.

Best Comedy Actress Winner: Ugly Betty's America Ferrera is going to take the triple crown of television awards, She has already won a Golden Globe and a SAG award and I think she'll be a favorite to win an Emmy. Although, if the award comes down to cuteness she'll have some competition against The Office's Jenna Fischer. I wouldn't be surprised if the Office producers submitted the monologue she gave during the "Beach Games" episode for a nomination bid.

The dark horse here? Lauren Graham of the dearly departed Gilmore Girls. She has yet to be nominated but may be given the nod this time around as a sentimental favorite. I would be okay if she won.

I don't think that LG will get a nomination. Not that she doesn't deserve it. But she has been overlooked for the last years and this season hasn't been particularly strong. So I don't think she has a chance.

But, they made a major mistake - GG (and therefore the show's actors) submitted for the Drama category this year.

I have to agree. And I know this is an unpopular opinion, but I'd hardly call FMP her strongest episode, even for this weak year. Her character was all over the place, until the end when it screamed "Emmy bid". Simultaneously pathetic and obvious. I'll think even less of the Emmys if they nominate her for that. Sure, they failed to nominate her when she deserved it in previous years, but two wrongs don't make a right.

As for TV Squad - do they know what year it is? They've been going downhill recently, but this takes the cake. How hard is it to get the categories right? Jeez.

I think she should win! The episode may not have been the best or her best performance but we've seen what she can do guys! We've seen, before, after and even during this episode how amazing of an actresses she is and how much she deserves this award. So what if she wins for that episode? The episode may not have been amazing but her acting was still incredible and Lauren was true to self! She deserves it! Who cares why she wins it or how, as long as she does!

Yea I'm not getting my hopes up either, maybe a sympathy nomination but I can't see her winning.

Oh well, she's too good for these awards!

I totally agree with the first part. Still, I want her to be nominated because this is her last chance to be recognized for her work on Gilmore Girls. I would look at it as an overall Emmy instead of one for FMP. I know it doesn't work like that, but that's how it would feel...

We're only allowed three. Occasionally we can have more on a temporary basis. The video contest thing was FF-wide and temporary.

Some boards seem to be able to get away with it

but we've tried to slide by with more in the past and were asked by the mod managers to detop all but three.
