Heh, it’s goimg to be frigid here for New Years, I’m not even sure if they’re doing fireworks here? My drive to and from work will be treacherous. I’m soooo not looking forward to that.

Fireworks are going off here already as well. The most annoying thing is, I hear a lot, but I can't find out where it's coming from..

Not really a fan of firework. It can look pretty, but I don't like the noise and danger. Cats aren't fond of it either. Last night someone decided to use fireworks in the middle of the night, around 3AM. Lasted for one minute; poor cats were scratching the bedroom door, they wanted the comfort, so we let them in.

If you think cats are sensitive, just imagine what horses are like! We used to have a horse who stressed out because of fireworks, she almost busted down the door on her stall trying to get away from them.

Lindsay - It’s gonna be in the 20s but there will be rain so streets will be freezing and slippery. I’m scared to death of black ice, I totaled my car the last time because of ice on the roadways.

Anja - Well, right now it's 6 degrees F which is -14 C. But the low on Friday is gonna be -9 F which is -23 C.

Jen - Black ice is scary.

Brr! That’s way too damn cold for lil ole me. Although I have experienced -25F before and that was painful!

Holy crap, that is cold..!! I don't think it was ever that cold over here..
Edit; I looked it up, the coldest tempterature ever was -27,4 C, which is around -17 in F.. That was in January 1942.

Hopefully you'll be able to stay warm somehow!

Just stayed home new year's Eve as usual. Heard a lot of fireworks around here. I know there weren't any organized ones so they were all private ones. I hate it when people set them off in our neighborhood because one 4th of July we had one lodge into the side of our garage. Luckily it only scorched it but didn't catch on fire. It always scares me now.

I'm really hating this crazy deep freeze we're having. We have been having a lot of single and teen digits F with negative wind chills. They're talking about closing schools Thurs and Fri because of the cold.
