I'd love for you to visit me, Ingmar! You AND your hubby are welcome anytime. Man, what I wouldn't give to travel to Europe and meet up with all of y'all, but the flights are just too ridiculous right now. I looked into flying to Amsterdam or London and the average cost for a "cheap" flight was $2200!!!

You showed me those prices last night, they are insane! It's so weird though, cause ticket prices from here to the US are so much cheaper..

That's insane! Have you tried booking through a European airline, like British Airways or KLM? If I check on the KLM website from Dallas to Amsterdam, it comes up 1200USD.

The only problem is Dallas or Houston are so far away from me (Dallas is a 4 hour drive, Houston is about 3 1/2) and flying there would tack on another couple hundred dollars but those ARE cheaper than what I was looking at. Of course, I was also looking at flights NOW vs. planning for ones in the future. I'll look into those airlines, though, thanks for the suggestion!

Yeah, I wasn't sure which other airports were an option and it might have to do with how direct your flight is. Because if KLM/Delta doesn't fly to the aiport closer to you, you are forced to take another connection and that can drive the price up.
