It's so interesting to see what makes people feel a connection to one of the Gilmore girls over the other. Because personally, I feel a LOT more connected to Rory, she's why I started watching this show, and we have like the exact same personality (my mom thinks we're the same person). I can relate to her a lot and understand what's going through her mind during the show. It's like "finally! someone who gets this!"

So I'm curious for those of you who prefer Lorelai, is it because you identify with her more or because you just think her character is more interesting/funny? Or both?

Oh, I definitely connected to Lorelai right off the bat, and she's what drew me to the show. Her smart ass comments, love of coffee, sense of humor is totally me in a nutshell, not to mention I'm closer to her in age, so that's why I can relate to her more. I think BOTH of them are funny characters in their own way so for me, it's not that one is funnier than the other.

Ohh, and what I like about Lorelai? It was Lorelai who got me addicted to the show. It's what Jen said, her weird wicked sense of humor, the comments she makes where you think; only Lorelai can come up with something like that. And of course the way Lauren plays her, makes her my favorite character.
But don't get me wrong, I do like Rory too.

Jojo - Ah! I LOVE that Lorelai/Rory collage!!!

Anja - Yeah, I instantly fell in love with Lauren and how she portrayed Lorelai! She's SUCH a funny actress but can also convey so much emotion, she's remarkable and truly talented. Those icons are GREAT, Anja!
