| Welcome to the thread! About what Kitty said about Nicole being embarrassed about the divorce. Yeah, I think Nicole wouldn't want to say yeah, I was married for a day or 2. She may have wanted to see if it could possibly work out for the time frame. :shrugs: She also may have realized what a great guy Luke is and didn't want to give him up at any cost, especially not to Lorelai. I know a lot of girls don't mind if they see their boyfriend talking to other girls or even hanging out with other girls, but they get jealous, or even nauseous if someone mentions an ex or a former crush that their boyfriend clearly cared a lot about. That might be the way Nicole feels about Luke and Lorelai, and her getting Luke to move is a way of sort of distancing Luke from Lorelai so he can't just go over to her house whenever and help her with whatever. | Thanks GLUGGLUG ~~ that was a nice direction to go with the fic. I really think Lorelai was avoiding Luke. She didn't want to be too close too soon. Lots of stuff was said and she has to think whether she wants to keep it up or let it go. Not telling Rory anything when she had told her earlier about the second fight....she really doesn't want to talk about it with her until she weighs all her feelings. It would be funny now if she sort of gave it up and concentrated more on Jason. Maybe she thinks she has said enough for now.... | Welcome to the forum! [img]smilies/biggrin.gif[/img] Carmen, the webmistress of JavaJunkies.net, hasn't had any time to work on the site. As far as I know, she has no set date of when it'll be back up. I do believe she is thinking of just making the site a JJ wallpaper/artwork site. I'm not totally sure. The next time I email her, I'll ask. On topic... I do think Nicole is trying ways to distance Luke from Lorelai. She tries to act like Lorelai doesn't make her jealous, but I believe she's a bit suspicious about Luke's relationship with Lorelai. Of course, asking Luke to move in with her isn't so off, considering they are married..though it's funny how Litchfield was picked as the place where they are to live. I'm sure the location was all Nicole's idea. Luke probably is letting Nicole do everything at the moment.. less hassle for him! The day after Luke and Lorelai broke the bells, Lorelai could have very well stayed away from Luke. Only because I think how close she came to expressing feelings that she, herself, didn't know existed.. it all kind of freaked her out and that she needed a little time to think about what happened, her feelings for Luke and the whole situation. | I don't think Nicole picked Litchfield intentionally, just to move Luke away from Lorelai. Actually, I don't think Nicole is jealous of Lorelai at all. Did you see the way she acted around her, when Lorelai was all Stutty McStutterson? She seemed confident, as if she were better than Lorelai and knew it. She had this cockiness about her that made me not like her to begin with. She was a bit intimidating (as lawyers can tend to be [img]smilies/wink.gif[/img]) and Lorelai felt that. | We don't get enough of Lorelai and Nicole to know much. We know Luke mentioned the first date conversation to Lorelai. And we have seen her smugness, and her superior attitude. I truly think she thinks she has won. He married her and she's not worried about it. That's what I got from that diner scene. (She loves to pull out the possessive thing ~~ the night at the Inn, the diner.) Now, the facade might be starting to break. They got an apartment, but Luke isn't spending time there. I'm sure she knew he'd be gone a lot ~~ she probably is too ~~ but I bet she thought he'd be sleeping there every night. And if some way, she either sees Lorelai around a lot or hears something, then she might start to worry. I'm sure Luke is very careful what he says about Lorelai around Nicole. But he's going to slip, he's a pretty straight forward guy. I can't wait for the 'stuff' to hit the fan with these two!! __________________ Booth: Alright. | I don't know how Nicole can not know something yet.. the guy has 'moved in' with her three weeks ago, yet hasn't actually moved in and doesn't sleep over there! Though, she can just be playing the oblivious idiot for the moment and not wanting to upset Luke by mentioning something. I hate her smuggness.. but I do think she's a bit jealous of Lorelai, because that smug attitude has to come from somewhere. Of course I think right now she is maybe confident 'cause since she married Luke she feels she has won and Lorelai can't touch him. I think if she spent more time in Stars Hollow and as time goes on with Luke not living with her yet insisting that he has moved in with her.. her confident attitude is going to be replaced with doubt and suspicion. In a way, Luke maybe keeps Nicole away for a reason. Or maybe he does it subconciously. I doubt he ever mentions Lorelai.. he knows Lorelai is a sore spot in his relationship with Nicole. | Kitty- How much do you think Sims 2 is going to cost? Yay tuesday. G'morning everyone. No school again, yay weather. I think Nicole might be a little jealous of the relationship that Lorelai has with Luke. I believe she has that air of arrogance and 'I'm better than you' as just a guise that she can protect herself with. | Jo, Sims 2 looks like it's going to cost around $50.00. Amazon has it for $49.99. It'll be released in June. [img]smilies/smile.gif[/img] I really like the engine they used. Heh, someone needs to go up to Nicole and say, "Reality check hon, your husband isn't into you as much as you'd like to think he is!" I think her arrogance is a cover too. She never tried to be friends with Lorelai. She doesn't want Lorelai to be close to Luke and it kills her that Lorelai has a part of Luke that she can't touch. | Happy Tuesday everyone! Some more analysis kicking around in my head about the L/L arc - On this whole “conversationally committed” thing – L/L have always been that way – hence their little chats montage that Kitty posted in the opening. They are each other’s confidants – Lor has Sookie and Rory but she tells Luke things she wouldn’t share with Rory and Sookie (the “whole package” speech from LHCD comes to mind) – same thing with Luke, although he really doesn’t have any other confidant other than Lorelai, remember how he’d practically run to her house anytime he had an issue with Jess? I really wonder if he confides in Nicole? We’ve never seen them have a real or deep conversation. There was definitely a shift that came with last week’s ep – Lor is starting to question Luke’s place in her life and how she would feel if she lost him (hence her freak out over the move). She has always acknowledged that he’s important to her as her friend - but I think she’s beginning to realize just how important he is, which might lead to her admitting that she loves him. I don’t see her telling Luke right away – she might confide in Rory or Sookie first – who hopefully would encourage her to reveal this to Luke. Although she’s pursuing this thing with Jason, she will continue to have the really important conversations with Luke and she will realize that what she has with Luke is much deeper than she had thought. I’m hoping this will make her realize just what she wants in a relationship and dump Jason by season’s end. __________________ Life's a banquet and most poor suckers are starving to death. | |||
