I come bearing gifts. My sister made a Java Junkie video. It's really cool. Big huge thanks to Kitty for everything and for hosting!

Is it even in your mind
Right Click, Save As (right Kitty?) It's a zip file by the way.

Hey Alexis, tell your sister I liked the video. I loved how the lyrics matched up with the scenes in the beginning and end. It fit. Now I want to go download that song.

I read your fic yesterday gluglug (you're on my author alert list ). It was good. It was very cool to notice some of the stuff that was talked about here.

Quick question for anyone. What's TWOP? I've seen that a couple of times and have no idea what it is. Someone fill in the clueless girl please.

I don't have to tell her, you just did. Alicia's a hardcore lurker. Hey lish! That song totally makes me bop my head, even though the lyrics are kind of angsty.

TWOP is www.televisionwithoutpity.com A writer named Pamie recaps Gilmore Girls episodes. If you find free time start by reading the Pilot and work your way through, they're hilarious.

Gluglug, that was wonderful. It did reaffirm their friendship, their tiffs always seem to be about something larger than what's being batted about on the surface. What irks me is that the writers forget how deep their friendship is, forget the romance, they are best friends. Lorelai has 3: Rory, Sookie, and most definitely Luke.

Did you guys read this? I found it on www.tvtattle.com Friday. It's written by a fan of Ed who went behind the scenes on the set and talked to the the writers about Ed and Carol in one part.

Quote:
The will-they-or-won’t-they plot line of the series lasted nearly every minute of three seasons. Obstacles and romance came in on both sides, and characters were added and subtracted. But in the end, a decision was made that this all must come to an end.

Why and when? Apparently, NBC was very concerned about “the Moonlighting effect,” mentions Etten, referring to the mid-1980’s television show where the two main characters circled around each other for several seasons before finally deciding to give romance a try. The show seemed to fail after that noteCritics were merciless in their opinion of the show following that point..

The writers had a much different view. “I don’t buy into that view at all,” said Dingess “It’s really a slap in the face of the viewers.”

“Very cynical,” added Etten.

However, the obstacles continued for a good while.

“I think Rob and John were a bit sick of, ‘OK, who’s the latest love interest?’” he continued.

The writers seem refreshed and enthused by the new direction of the show.

“The characters have to be allowed to grow and change. The reality of a new relationship rather than the fantasy – it’s fun to think of different ideas,” says Dingess.

“We have such a great cast with so many stories they can tell,” adds Etten.

The seeming resolution of Ed and Carol’s will-they-or-won’t-they dilemma has indeed opened up another “wonderful world of possibility” for Ed’s writers to explore.
I mean, do we enjoy moments like last week where they're about to admit they have deeper feelings for each other? Of course, but by doing this once every 5 episodes or so for 4 years...it makes it seem like the characters aren't growing in terms of their feelings. One could say they consciously put those feelings on the backburner all this time to avoid having to deal with what comes in a real relationship. But I still think it's an interesting comparison to ponder.

That video is great Alexis! Tell Alicia that I love the video and hope she makes more!

Yes, either click the link or right click and save as.

The song is perfect. I thought I had that song on my hard drive, I'll have to look for it or just download it again.

I think I should be watching that show. It would be nice to watch a show with the courage to put the couple together before the end of the series. Most writers/shows lack that.

It does take courage to get a couple like this together. But it can be done. Just lots of work for the writers keeping it interesting and real. I think these writers can do it.....some of them anyway. These two are so interesting and so different. It wouldn't have to be quick or painfree but it should be started....and maybe it finally has been.

Another thought....I wonder what Nicole would think if she saw Luke's apartment right now? It's very much lived in, and not a packing box in sight. Looks like he has no intention of going anywhere. Somebody getting ready to move would be, at the very least, sorting things out, and collecting boxes!!

I think they can make them work as a couple on GG if they work at it. See, I think they should start working towards that because the viewers are going to start not caring about them as a couple if they keep this dance up.

I think Nicole would be pissed if she came to Luke's apartment now and saw that Luke has made no move towards actually moving in with her. It's like he's telling her, "Yeah, I'm packing my stuff up now." and then hanging up the phone and returning his attention back to the tv. I can see Nicole ignoring it right now, like Jenna said, they're relationship is already rocky. I can see Nicole not wanting to bother Luke now.. but it's going to build up inside of her and Luke is going to be at ugly end of her blowing up.

I'm actually suprised how well Ed is working with E/C being together. They've made some bad storylines and some good ones but overall I think it's working.

I think L/L would work much better for GG though, they have a lot quirks in both characters that could make little cute arguements. But I miss the town rooting for them, I think they have given up kind of like the writers have, IMO. Well until last episode at least.

You can drag the couple thing out too long. GG viewers have watched this dance for years....it's time for some pay off. For us and for the characters....they just come off as stupid if it goes on too long. It's not like they are teenagers. They are supposed to be two fairly mature adults looking for that one great relaionship.

We, who have watched, would like to see the relationship develop also. See them trying to make it work and be totally together. The romantic stuff and the work involved in making a relationship work. Plus, seeing other people's reactions!!

I agree and I think if GG doesn't do something it will lose viewers, I am we were sick of it in Season 3, so I hope that this season will just bring out their feelings for another. We need Luke to meet Jason now.

Alexis- I just saw Alicia's video...it was awesome!

Thanks for the feedback on my fic - I kind of wrote it for you guys.

I just noticed something about the ep - how L/L couldn't stay away from each other during the fight. Luke came to shovel her walk and they fought some more. And then Lorelai couldn't stay away from Luke and came to the diner. And then they argued again in the church - only the next day did Lor seem to be avoiding him - hence her eating at Weston's (wearing the "jungle vomit" shirt).

I guess she must've been thinking about her discussion with Luke. And how she didn't tell Rory, either, shows that he was on her mind. I don't think she would've wanted to answer any probing questions from Rory about it. She's definitely thinking about him!

I know this fight wasn't as big as their blowup in TMT where things were really awkward and they avoided each other for weeks - but I'm hoping that this shows more progress or at least a strengthening of their bond - that even when they fight they are more willing to try to talk to each other or be around each other. They aren't letting their pride get in the way.

Great points made!!

The fact that they are not avoiding each other and the anger...good sign. (anger/passion) They have learned from past experiences that avoidance doesn't work for them.

They need each other in some way....things are starting to happen. It's about time.

I definitely think she was avoiding contact with Luke and Rory...while she sort things out. And obviously, she is losing sleep over her thoughts also. Now Luke needs to make some move.....the only move, get rid of Nicole.

This season is so much fun....finally some L&L!!!

gluglug, and we thank you for writing your fic.

That's right! I can't believe I didn't catch that. Even though they were fighting, they couldn't stay away from each other. That's progress.. usually they avoid each other and mope for days until someone apologizes. I think a reason that they are both being a bit freakish is that they are so afraid of the changes and losing each other right now.

But we don't actually know if Lorelai avoided Luke the next day. It was 4pm when Rory was talking to her. Lorelai could have went into Luke's in the morning. Although her distracted state, I'd say she probably stayed away from Luke to do some thinking.. that's what it looked like she was doing in Weston's Bakery.. thinking of last night and Luke. She did get pretty wistful when Rory mentioned the bells.

found a JJ thread I have been looking everywhere for one and finally found one sorry just happy I found this thread

one question is nicole just completely dense or does she really think him coming over and staying over not staying really= a happy marriage?

I truly believe digger is really using Lorelai, he just too nice for him to be trustworthy.

and I truly believe we JJ will soon get or payoff
