When I was there for the weeding which took place at some beautiful B&B we took a scenic boat ride. As the sun began we noticed a boat that had capsized and some stranded passengers. We then got to watch a rescue at sea. I had some of the best seafood I ever had that weekend. I don't drink so it did not bother me. I have never heard of a "Hannah Jumper" but the next time I am there I will have to try it.

Ah, I wasn't clear. The Hannah Jumper is a restaurant - very good food but a bit pricey.

And a correction to the pronounciation for Gloucester - real natives say Glawsta

I did eat at some good seafood joint but I don't remember the name. I will find out the name and get back to you.

the pronounciation reminds me of this commercial for Avis. YouTube - Avis - Yankees/Red Sox (with SOUND)

That’s like Californians and the word dude or people from NY using the word Fugetaboutit. I have been told by people that they dig my Long Gyland accent. I don't think I even have an accent.

We had a woman contractor from Canada working with us and we used to find ways to get her to say "about" - it came out "aboot"

I don't know about using "dude" (I think that's a SoCal thing) but using "totally" and saying soda "sooduh" is typical Cal-speak. Another California quirk is when a native refers to a freeway they say "THE 101" or "THE 5". The rest of the universe says "take 101" or "get on hiway 5" - Californians say "take THE 101" or "get on THE 5".

Cool little tidbits about the sunny state.

People tell me I have a accent too and I totally don't think I do.

Your post reminded me of this... Steve Martin tune

King Tut (King Tut)
Now when he was a young man,
He never thought he'd see
People stand in line to see the boy king.

(King Tut) How'd you get so funky?
(funky Tut) Did you do the monkey?
Born in Arizona,
Moved to Babylonia (king Tut).

(king Tut) Now, if I'd known
they'd line up just to see him,
I'd trade in all my money
And bought me a museum. (king Tut)

Buried with a donkey (funky Tut)
He's my favorite ------- !
Born in Arizona,
Moved to Babylonia (king Tut)

Dancin by the Nile, (Disco Tut)
The ladies love his style, (boss Tut)
Rockin for a mile (rockin Tut)
He ate a crocodile.

He gave his life for tourism.
Golden idol!
He's an Egyptian
They're sellin you.

Now, when I die,
now don't think I'm a nut,
don't want no fancy funeral,
Just one like ole king Tut. (king Tut)

He coulda won a Grammy,
Buried in his Jammies,
Born in Arizona, moved to Babylonia,
He was born in Arizona, got a condo made of stone-a,
King Tut!

Those are the weirdest lyrics I've ever read.

That Steve Martin tune is classic.

The summer before last I had a wedding in Philly. It was a Jewish/Indian wedding. Good times.

Speaking of Ohio?

Four Days
By Counting Crows

All I want is something good
It gets harder every time
She is leaving here tonight
Take a breath
Take your time
Spread your wings and rise
Make a mark upon the wall
Paint your face and pass the time
Close your eyes as she ascends
Hold your breath and ease your mind
Forty thousand times
Time ...fades into the night
They descend and then they climb
Feathers falling through the night
Have you seen Ohio rise?
It has been four days and nights
All I want is something fine
It gets harder every time
She is sleeping far away
Take a breath
Take your time
Spread your wings and rise
Rise into the black Ohio skies
They descend and then they climb
Feathers falling through the night
Have you seen ohio rise
It has been four days and nights

I also can’t forget the classic Ohio by Neil Young and Streets of Philadelphia by Springsteen and Motown Philly by Boys II Men.
