The Many Faces of Shiri Appleby

Welcome to The Many Faces of Shiri Appleby discussion thread.

I'm opening up this thread for us to discuss our favorite Shiri roles/characters. This thought was inspired by Deeboy's lovely fanart of the different projects that Shiri has been involved.

While I think of my own favorites, please feel free to share what are your faves, along with any screencaps or pics you might have.

Post away!

I still love Shiri in Roswell as Liz. I'm going to be forever Roswellian, so I don't think she can make role that would be better than Liz Liz had all the emotions that woman can have in three seasons, and Shiri did good job showing them to the world

I haven't seen many of Shiri's movies, but I loved her in I-See-You.com as Randi. She was a woman! Never piss of a woman, they say and they are right!! Randi showed that to us. ^_^

Anya was also so hot, that I'm surprised that the old guy didn't burn his fingers! Anya is that kind of girl, that I would love to be. Hot and wanted. I never liked her desicion to go off, with her old boyfriend, 'cos that took her off the series!

I think it's funny, how Shiri can look so different in each role, but still so same! I just love her, and her skills!

Thank's for opening this thread!! Okay, here we go CC!!

What got me drawn to Shiri is her role as Liz Parker. The innocence she portrayed there was perfect. A highschool girl experiencing her first love and developing into a woman in three seasons was dead on target. This made me into a dreamer/chemist at heart. I saw myself in her when I was her age minus of course the 'alien thing'! I love, love, her when she was the voice of reason amidst all the problems in the alient abyss!! She was simplicity in beauty!!

Liz Parker has put the biggest impression on me when it comes to all the characters she has played.

I think Liz is important to everybody, and it made a big impression. Is there many people who knew Shiri before her role as Liz?

Liz Parker will always be my first one, but I liked Anya, she was sassy. Btw, great collage.

Shiri's role as Anya in Six Degrees, shows how she evolved from being Liz Parker to worldly Anya. Anya was always so pretty on screen in every shot of her in the six episodes she appeared in. Her expressions reflected in those soulful eyes were put to good use. Shiri exuded confidence as Anya, sultry, sexy and all woman!!

For me I could easily pick any one of her roles. Each one brought something special and different to the table and left a lasting impression on me. Aside from her good looks it’s her acting that keeps me coming back for more. Looking back on her career I totally remember her in that Taco Bell commercial. That Hawaiian shirt was funny. What Teens wears a shirt like that? At the time I had no idea who she was. Little did I know that years later she would come back into my life and change it forever? I don’t even think I remember what my life was like prier to Shiri entering it. Don’t get me wrong I totally remember my childhood and loved every single minute of it but I am sure you get the idea. However I am going to have to go with Roswell. If it was not for Roswell I would probably not be posting this nor would I have any idea who Shiri is. From the opening scene of Roswell I knew she was something special. No one could have played the role of Liz Parker better then Shiri. Unlike some actors she actually looked like she was still in HS and with her girl next store looks she nailed it perfectly. I felt every single emotion. Shiri brought Liz Parker to life. I may have even cried during certain scenes like when Liz’s Grandmother died and when Liz was morning the death Alex. There have been times where I even forgot that Liz was not real and Shiri was just acting.

Liz Parker will always be my favorite role of Shiri. She make me forgotten that she was actually playing and she make me feel all her emotions ... I really like Anya too for all the reasons that you say... That's why I was a little sad that they make her take her ex-boyfriend back so easily, that didn't seems like her at all !

The role of Liz Parker is what made me notice Shiri but since Roswell I think she's had better roles, more difficult (acting wise) like Violet in Undertow.
I love all her movies and character so it's difficult for me to say which one is better...they're all different.

She's taken on a variety of roles and that really says something about her as an actress. She isn't afraid of a challenge, something I find admirable. She can't be type casted and she doesn't want to be. With Liz Parker she may have struck gold but as Anya, Amanda, etc. she's uped her game.

It's true that Liz will always be a large persona in her career, but I'm glad she's not bitter about it and that she embraces it. It seems like she's the only one that is truly appreciative of her Roswell fame.

I didn't know Shiri b4 her role in Roswell, and for me, no one could have played Liz better than her. she was Liz. that's why they couldn't choose anyone else for that role.
now, she grew up and she's not a young girl anymore, but for me, she's the same, natural and so beautiful. no one can compare with her. whatever she's playing, we can recognize her style, her figure, her emotions. she's real and true. that's not from me, but Max said it. and those words fit so well to Shiri.
