Ditto. I really do think this show will be huge, and with the great writers and directors also attached it could bring in a big audience.

For me it's love/hate. If you have too many things in your alerts you get hundreds of emails (plus all the spam). Also, I think the alerts slow traffic to sites like this. If you can get the news in your email why lurk here - I'd be willing to bet that lurking is way off from before the "Alert" invention.

Yeah, I get tons of spam for TLAD.

And I think you are right, there probably isn't as many lurkers. But lucky for us, most of the people who post here are regulars, no matter what news is in our email. Besides last month, our post numbers have been huge so I don't think google alerts have altered posting numbers in any negative way. I think the alerts have given us more to talk about and more news to post because I don't think we'd find everything we have without the alerts. Makes me wonder how much we missed before the alerts.

Sometimes Google alerts send you some great stuff and other times they just send you crap. However the good stuff most of the times make up for it. How come I just received a Google alert about Six Degrees and Shiri and Zach breaking up? Talk about better late then never.

Sometimes talking about nothing or what we read helps keep this place alive.
