| Departure!Angst. Oh the sadness... I think I wanted to curl into a little ball and die while watching that episode for the first time. Re-watching I came to appreciate it for the ML angsty goldmine that it was, but that first time even the kiss left a bitter taste in my mouth... just because it was too little, too late. Of course, I wasn't thinking that when Max basically told her at the end of the episode that she was the one thing he'd done right.  They didn't always make the smartest choices, but there were moments when it was very obvious that we were watching two smart cookies. Usually when they were together. A favorite M/L moment... hmm... just one? The van scene in Destiny -- or, correction: both van scenes in Destiny, both where Liz gets the flashes of the white room from him and where they confess their love. If he'd had a chance to "pull himself together" I don't believe Max would've ever let Liz witness those memories and horrors, but on the same coin I don't believe that regardless of his state, he would have been open enough to share those things with anyone else regardless of his mental state or the circumstances. It was almost like a parallel of their connection in the Pilot, where he showed her his deepest fears not knowing whether she would stay or run away from him. By Destiny he knew that she was there for him, and after what happened he felt safe enough with Liz to say 'I love you' and let her be with him and heal him. | Zomggg the first 2 caps is soooooooooo cute!! I remembered when I saw that scene for the first time. My dreamer heart couldn't handled it haha. And the almost kiss scene but interrupted by Maria haha  IMO, they should just kiss and ignore Maria  eta: hmmm my favorite M/L scene. I think it's the end of the Pilot. Dave Matthews Band as background music ... the "it's not safe, I don't care", "thank you for saving my life, thank you". The beginning of their journey. The locking eyes. Max looks very young and cute in it (hell yeah he was wearing a tux too!! ) Liz was looking hot and cute. That little scene gets me everytime.
