Her aggression works and makes sense given what we've seen and learned from Roku and Kyoshi. Aang's passiveness was unique.

It does make me wonder (and again, give me more info), how the other air nomad avatars were raised. Were they from a different location or did the Air Nomads just evolve to that passiveness throug the other avatar cycles?

Very good questions We need a throwback show to when the air nomads were alive and thriving so we can learn more about them and the past Avatars from their culture.

They really did and it'd be super interesting.

100% agreed!

I know that Avatars are fused with the spirit of light and whatnot, but an Avatar that's a bit shady with how they go about things could be really interesting I think. I know that's what Korra's uncle tried to create, a dark Avatar, but even one who had some questionable morals would be an interesting spin on things.
