One thing that's interesting about the first couple seasons of Korra, is that the opposing force, the bad guys, are from the Water Tribe. ATLA had us so used to the Fire Nation being the sources of all evil so it's nice to have a switch up and to see that these dark intentions can come from anywhere.

This is very interesting! They came off as so calm and peaceful during ATLA. But it's true, evil can come from anywhere.

First bloodbending to take away bending from others! And then opening the spirit portals for nefarious purposes Waterbenders are doing the most in Korra

I've always thought it's kind of interesting waterbending (which doesn't seem super violent) can be used for bloodbending which is so dark! And it took on a new life in Korra. Plus the spirit portals! They are doing the most

We often saw waterbending used for healing thanks to Katara Then it got real dark real quick It goes to show how such a powerful tool can be used for good or evil depending on who is utilizing it. Get it together, waterbenders Or more accurately just a couple guys.
