Yes, I've always just found that 1 scene between them in that 1 episode to be fairly cute.
 It may be in part due to the fact that in that episode Lex acts far less slimy and shows more humanity, particularly in that moment with Lois.__________________

Agreed. He did seem okay and more human in that scene. Which was definitely rare.
Other times he just seemed very obsessive and controlling. He does have that one line he says about getting everything he wants. I still am kinda shocked that he'd go suicidal rather than be locked up. __________________

Well, I think that after season 2 the new show runners were steering Lex away from the guy he was in season 1 and more towards a cartoonish villain to be honest.

I think there was some kinda disagreement. I read somewhere that he wanted to be paid more. I'm not sure if it was true.
