I don't see what's wrong with his catchphrase? It seems fitting.
But I could've sworn in the show they had said he stood for Truth and Justice? When did they mention the "American way" part?

You are right, Clark never stated that once in a episode... well Dean Cain's version didn't. lol He stood for truth and justice.
Christopher Reeve version said that, on Smallville Clark just said, "Truth, justice and other stuff."
I literally don't remember Dean Cain's version saying that. lol I think he only said "truth and justice" so umm yeah.

I just really don't see the point of Dean Cain mentioning it seeing as how Superman isn't even from America, he's from Krypton. lol
