This is one of my all-time favourite episodes.
I know we all dislike Shep, but you had to feel for him in this one when he was being wheeled around strapped to the gurney and wanting to know about Raul. Aw, and poor Raul. The actor who played him did a phenomenal job in this episode. I always love an action-packed, high-intensity trauma sequence, so this episode is a favourite for that reason too. |

This is one of my all-time favourites. And I agree with Stephen, I never liked Shep but in this episode you just wanna hug him.
And Doug being disappointed once again by his dad... that was though to watch. ETA: Clip: YouTube - Raul Dies E.R. __________________

It was a very rough and emotionally charged episode - the kind of days when ER is at it's finest. That look in Raul's eyes, knowing he was going to die.. so utterly heartbreaking. Amazing acting *nods*

I remember thinking at the time "God I hope Shep gets it" because I just didnt get that character, he was kind of a jerk.
The actor that plaed Raul was fantastic in this episode, you knew what he was thinking just looking at his eyes. It was really sad. |

Thanks for the clip! Totally agree that Raul's portrayer did a fantastic job. And I kinda did feel for Shep, yeah. And if I remember correctly, Raul's death is what sent him over the edge in terms of being unable to control his anger. Probably in part because they should've waited, but he went in and Raul followed so he was feeling a certain measure of guilt on top of his grief.

Yeah. After that is when he went off the deep end. The loss and the guilt were too much for him.

(Not that I complain, since that meant he and Carol broke up. ) __________________
