NBC Review

DEADLY TRAIN CRASH PUTS DOCTORS AT RISK IN THE FIELD DURING 'ER'S' 150TH EPISODE -- In the classic drama's 150th episode, a multi-car train accident scrambles the ER and Drs. Kovac (Goran Visnjic), Carter (Noah Wyle) and Corday (Alex Kingston) are overwhelmed by the carnage at the site as they work to save an impaled mother, her young son and a trapped firefighter -- until the pregnant Corday begins to suffer painful contractions. Back at County, Dr. Benton (Eriq La Salle) tries to salvage a victim with a shredded aorta and even helps Carter with a tricky amputation over the phone, all of which leaves an observing med school applicant wide-eyed. Meanwhile, the bloody mayhem prompts Kovac to recall the harrowing loss of his own family and he confronts his torment with the terminally ill Bishop Stewart (Oscar-nominated guest star James Cromwell, "Babe"). Anthony Edwards, Laura Innes, Maura Tierney, Paul McCrane, Michael Michele, Erik Palladino and Ming-Na also star.

Quotes:

Bishop: Luka...your heart is burdened, Luka. Talk to me. Let me take that burden with me.

Carter: Does it come life-sized for bigger kids?

Rena: Why, are you lonely?

Kovac: If I'd picked up Danjela at that moment and gotten her to the hospital, she could have had surgery. You know, she could have lived. But I couldn't leave my little girl.

Randi: How'd your personality test go?

Greene: I scored somewhere between serial killer and talk show host.

Kovac: I thought they were memory tests.

Greene: That was Monday.
Carter: What's next? Rorschach? Spelling bee?
Greene: Swimwear competition, sudden-death Twister. Who knows? Maybe a chili cook-off.

Romano: Is this the pre-op amputation?
Carter: No, this is the post-op amputation.

Romano: What? In the field?
Carter: Yeah, he was trapped-
Romano: Oh, what did they use?! A chain saw?!

Carter: Dr. Benton talked me through it.

Romano: You did this?
Carter: There was nobody else to do it, so I-
Romano: Oh, well, no one else could do it. Well, by all means, then, let's get whoever's available. (to Olbes) You ought to try it next time.
Weaver: Yeah, maybe if you'd respond to your page-
Romano: I can't wear my pager in the dojo.

I'm Not Dead 10-11-2011 05:29 PM

No problem! It's one of my favourites too and I am so glad that it worked out as the 150th. :D I can't wait for everyone to see this thread.

But when we hit 175,000 posts I don't know if we should do one of these because the 175th episode was "Orion in the Sky".

I hope you do. :D I like the idea of vintage episode discussions, but it's more fun when they are special landmark episodes. :D
