This thread is devoted to the pairing of Neela Rasgotra and Ray Barnett. Neela is a smart, by-the-book girl, and Ray is a doctor, in a rock-band boy's body. Both met in season 11 and the hints and sparks have been flying since. From the first casual flirt, to the snowballs thrown, to the invitation to become roommates, these two are meant to be. And this is just the beginning of their story.

Alas, I've returned from Boston safe and sound. Bro signed the lease on his apartment, so he just has to do the last months and key and cleaning deposits and he'll be set to move in mid-August. Miss him, I shall, even though he has a tendency to drive me nuts sometimes. But then, don't all brothers? Especially younger ones?

Glad you all liked the thread title. Congrats on the avi Em, and you'll be at 100 before you know it Fi. Just keep posting. I have just d/l-ed Neel's vid, so I'll watch it tomorrow, erm, later today, when I can see straight. It is linked at the top of the thread, however. And my brain is completely scrambled. I think I forgot to log out of Fanforum at the internet cafe this afternoon, so if anyone sees any messages from me in odd places (read: not on the ER or CSI:NY boards), give me a heads up, will you?

Fi: A week..pshaw! It takes time medear. I know barely anyone who jumped straight into a job after graduation..excepting those who did something very structured like law or medicine. Getting a job that suits, especially if you have an arts degree(Film & Drama) as I do can take some time. I graduated in 2003. Spent a couple of months unemployed, went slowly crazy and ended up working in a craft store for 8 months. It's disheartening when you start to wonder what all your work and years of education were for..but perseverance is key. After the 8 months it was starting to get me down..I handed in my notice witth no prospects whatsoever..because as Joey Tribbiani will tell you...you gotta have 'the fear' Those few months helped me get more determined than ever, pay a few debts and reminded me why I'd done my degree in the first place. I kept at it and was lucky enough to get a job in local radio through some contacts..initially it was just admin, then I got to do more scripting/voiceovers and production..I knew that it wasn't where I wanted to stay but any experience is great for your CV and helps you to hit the next step on the ladder. Finally in January this year after over 18 months of continuous applying for anything...I was contacted by my current employers who had been passed my CV by someone else in the industry..I hadn't even applied to them! They invited me for interview. I dropped everything, packed a bag and came to London from Ireland. Two days later I had was offered the job-a kind of internship position (independent film company). I had to sleep on a sofa for two months and until a week ago I was commuting 4 hours a day from Surrey and back. But the opportunity means everything to me. Money can be a struggle as I get paid on a commision basis but things have gone so well..my employers have given me free accomodation 20 minutes from here so I have few expenses...and that's what credit cards are for I now work near Notting Hill and lives minutes from Portobello Road..a scenario I couldn't have dreamed up a year ago..so i guess what I'm saying is keep at it...your time will come. I'm still a small fish in a big pond but I do finally feel like I'm getting somewhere..so never give up

Just watched "Try Carter" - how much do I currently feel like Neela?? Highly qualified, with no prospects! I totally get where she's coming from in that epi at the moment.

Also - seriously loving the roof scene at the very end - the first signs that maybe Ray does have a softer side after all. Aaaw.... No, I really don't have anything better to do with my time than dissect ER. *slaps self* - go write your CV, stupid girl!

irishgirl: Thank you for the message. It's just a tough time adjusting to *not* going back to University in September, and having so much debt to pay off () - think I might actually have to submit to my mother's will and go back to working for ASDA (WalMart for those in the US!). They are the root of all evil in my life, but at least they pay reasonably well. Apparently, it isn't any easier to get a job if you've got a science degree either (I'm BSc Environmental Science) - though at least 2 of my friends from the same degree have gone straight into Environmental Advisor roles with the big oil companies up here in Aberdeen. I guess though I'll just have to do things the hard way.

Also, I'm lazy as get out right now - which probably doesn't help my cause very much !

To those still at University etc - my advice - enjoy it while it lasts! You'll only appreciate why when it's over, trust me.
