This thread is devoted to the pairing of Neela Rasgotra and Ray Barnett. Neela is a smart, by-the-book girl, and Ray is then part-time doctor, part-time musician. They met in season 11 and the hints and sparks have been flying since. From casual flirting to becoming roommates, these two were meant to be. A very strong friendship was formed and feelings blossomed. Severe obstacles got in the way: a marriage, a tragedy, a jerk, a terrible accident... They both suffered great losses but their friendship never faltered and in the end, they found their way back to each other... and started a new life together in Louisiana.

Medical drama “ER” has been added as an honoree at the "2009 TV Land Awards," it was announced today.

The two-hour show, hosted by Neil Patrick Harris will tape on Sunday, April 19th at the Gibson Amphitheatre in Universal City and will air on TV Land during a special presentation of TV Land PRIME on Sunday, April 26th at 8PM ET/PT.

“ER,” one of television’s longest running dramas, will be presented with the Icon Award for the way that it changed television with its fast-paced steadi-cam shots as well as for its amazing and gritty storylines.

The Icon Award is presented to a television program with immeasurable fame and longevity.

"ER" had its finale on April 2, pulling in a record number 16 million viewers.

The Emmy-winning “ER” in its 15-year prime-time television run, won 122 Emmy awards, making it the most-lauded drama in television history.

Based on the best-selling novel by the late Michael Crichton, executive produced by John Wells and produced by Steven Spielberg’s Amblin Entertainment, “ER” launched the careers of its original cast members including George Clooney, Noah Wyle and Julianna Margulies.

Yay Roomies together!! As happy as I am they ended up together I wish Shane never left the show so we could have at least gotten a chance to see them together on the show. We only got to see them kiss one time and then he left, that's the only thing that makes me mad about the roomies but having them together in the end makes up for it and what we did see on the show was so great that I'm happy

I can't say it wasn't disappointing to have such little screen time with them both together, but i'd already kinda guessed they might not be given this so i was resigned to it.....having said that it was wonderful to see them re-united and the ending to that episode was just, (in shane's own words) "perfection". It was also great seeing Neela looking genuinely happy and at peace with herself and the decision to move that she'd been fretting over.

On another note, re: the quotes of neela and ray right at the top, i don't think it ever stated they were back living together or did i miss that? (ray helped her with moving stuff into her office, not her bedroom) Although i guess that'd make sense if Ray had a spare room and Neela hadn't sorted out anywhere to stay as yet. ETA: Just realised it's because he says 'home' in the video chat.

I know a lot of fans wanted to see a bit of Roomie 'action' hehe, but due to the timing (she'd just broken up with simon, just shifted her life by moving, and getting a new job with more responsibility) i think unless we got some substantial Roomie screen-time, that would be highly unlikely.
I think we all know in our heads, just as TPTB do, that if a little time had gone by, of course they'd reconnect as lovers and not just friends, and live happily ever after.....well maybe not ever after - this is ER afterall, nothing runs smoothly! :-) But it'll always be 'ever after' in canon!

Well, it was only a matter of screentime. It's obvious that Neela didn't expect to rekindle their friendship after moving all the way to be with him. They didn't need to tiptoe around each other anymore. She knew she was what he wanted and he understood he was what she wanted the most too. Of course, they have a lot of issues to work on, but they can only make it after overcoming so many obstacles.

With the help of Sandalwood, I revamped the "What's playing at the local theater " section and added a part with the Roomies' official songs.
