Did anyone watch falling skies?
I don't have the station where it airs. It got great premiere ratings but the reviews for it have been just horrible. The fans who watched the pilot seemed to hate it and say Noah was miscast in the role. If anyone saw it, can they comment on that? I hope Noah gets a big hit. He deserves it. __________________

I commented at the end of the last thread, but I'll re-post it here:
The show is very well-made, but I felt no connection with the characters. I wouldn't say that Noah was mis-cast, but I suppose the show didn't fit with what I had expected. Having said that, I will keep watching to see if things change because a pilot can only tell you so much. |

I hope this doesn't go the way of The cape. I enjoyed The cape very much but the critics were very bad too, and from good ratings in the premiere, it kept dropping after.
I don't want this to happen to Noah too. This is why I have such problems getting into new shows. I was planning to check this out on Vuze, but will wait to see if the ratings stay strong as I don't want another show I like to get cancelled. Yeah, I always give a show about 3 or 4 episodes before I decide whether to watch or drop it. __________________

I know what you mean about new shows. I used to think I was the kiss of death, so tried to wait until I knew something was a hit.
I really want FS to succeed for Noah (and everyone involved). |

LOL, I thought I was the only one superstitious about that.
I always have trouble watching a new show with an actor I love because I fear I will jinx it or something. I love Will Estes and Donnie Wahlberg but I waited until I knew Blue Bloods was a big hit to watch it. Same with Rookie Blue and The Glades (big fan of Matt Passmore from Mcleod). Noah is so talented. I want this to be a big hit for him. __________________

Hi all
I'm Lee, huge fan of Noah from day one of ER.. SoI had to tune into Falling Skies I honestly really liked it! I did tune in for Noah but I liked the story so far. I can't wait for next week. I felt the connection between Noah's character and his sons and I kind of think he is playing a good part for him, although in the first epi when he was walking through the make shift hospital talking to the doctor I kept waiting for him to step in and take that stethescope from her and start treating people. Is there a "Falling Skies" thread or board on that anyone knows of? __________________

^ THIS is it Lee, your Falling Skies thread, hehehe Well, you can also create one at the Television Board if you want, that's where threads are created for shows that don't have a board here.
Anyway, welcome and happy to see another Noah fan, hope you have lots of fun here I'm Ju Quote:

I've a Falling Skies twitter account and I can say you that I've read a lot of tweets of people who liked it or loved it too. Obviously not "everyone" liked it. But it's impossible to accomplish everyon's tastes....so. Many Critics Reviews were good. You can read them here Critic Reviews for Falling Skies Season 1 at Metacritic Critics obviously liked it. They already got a TV Critics' Choice Award. Ratings were great. It was tob cable launch of the year: Sunday Ratings: Spielberg Scores With Falling Skies -- Vulture It's already an hit for Noah. I also found interesting that news: http://buzzlog.yahoo.com/buzzlog/944...est-on-the-web And I don't think Noah was miscast. I like his character and his acting was great. He was believable like father and was believable like academic-action hero. But it was just a "pilot". Pilot is never the best episode but I liked it, especially the 2nd hour. And I see a lot of potential so I'll continue to watch because there are great chances it's going to improve. __________________
