And the sad thing is you can't even notice her talent AT ALL on that role.
Exactly. Her performance during the sixth season (?) of ER when her son is killed was one of the best grief scenes during the show's entire run, IMO. That scream.

That was an incredible performance. Khandi was always great and funny on NewsRadio, although her role was never as large as I would have liked it to have been.

John Wells Honored by American Society of Cinematographers

Quote:
The American Society of Cinematographers has chosen award-winning writer-director-producer John Wells as this year’s recipient of the Board of Governors Award.

Wells will be honored during the 28th annual ASC Outstanding Achievement Awards gala on Feb. 1 at the Hollywood and Highland Ray Dolby Ballroom.

“John Wells is an extraordinary talent whose long career has exposed the world to superlative cinematography across a wide array of features and television,” ASC President Richard Crudo said.

Over the course of his prolific career, Wells has amassed more than 830 credits. He is the creative force behind many hit shows, such as “ER” and “The West Wing.” Currently, he is the EP on Showtime’s “Shameless.” Shows that have been produced by Wells have earned more than 270 Emmy nominations, with 55 wins.

Wells also served as president of the Writers Guild of America, West from 2009-2011, and previously served as its president from 1999-2001.

The ASC Board of Governors Award is given to an individual who has made extraordinary achievements in advancing the art and craft of filmmaking.

Glad Wells is being recognized for the genius he is.

Meanwhile, be wary of any memorabilia that says it has a certificate of authenticity. Those certificates mean diddly-squat (thanks, "Pawn Stars," for teaching me things). Plus, I've seen them attached to autographs on eBay that are so obviously forged it's not even funny.

I don't like the signatures either, neither look like how they sign now, so unless it was signed early in the run of ER. Stay away. The most important thing is to do research on the seller and on the autographs.

Agreed. I just looked up at the Julianna autograph on my desk (from 2011) and she has signed it 'Jul. MR'

Wow, so powerful!! Seeing Gloria getting all emotional there makes me think of Jeanie. Such a horrible disease, but at least there is more hope for sufferers now than there was back in the 80s. Elizabeth Glaser is inspirational! Thanks for sharing!
