The Doctors' Lounge. I love talking about ER related things and other shows, but even more I love that we have a thread where we can talk about everything, share about our lives. It's always so great to hear how everyone is doing etc.

I'm really grateful that I get to move to my new apartment next week. And that I get to see my sister and my nephew today, who I haven't seen in over a month! I'm also grateful for spring. And Kari. And my family. There are so many things to be grateful for!

Do you enjoy shopping? Where do you like to shop?

I like shopping at bookstores. And that's it, HATE shopping for everything else


What do you do to keep warm when it's really cold? (I actually need tips, my feet are always freezing and that makes me feel cold all over )

Well, I don't have any magic tricks, but I put on a lot of clothes for start. As a Finn, I have lots of warm shirts and hoodies etc. Multiple socks, preferably woolen socks keep the feet warm. Then, of course hot drinks help. And jumping up and down. I don't know if these help, they're kind of obvious.

Do you know how your parents came up with your name? (Were you named after someone, does your name mean something etc.?)

Some ancestors shared the same name. My uncle has the same name too. It's Andrew, so it's an old name which isn't that bad at all

My parents specifically did not name me or my siblings after anyone. Mum doesn't know where exactly Stephen came from, but she was torn between that or Matthew. Ultimately, she gave me Matthew as my middle name.

What do you most like to know about people when you first meet them? (e.g. what they do for a living, where they're from, etc.)

I usually ask what they do for a living and also about their hobbies. It's kind of interesting when you think about it: we often define people by what they do when there would be so much more we could ask. But those seem kind of "safe" or appropriate questions to ask when you don't know a person well.

What are you most looking forward to this summer?

I'm looking forward to leaving behind all the stress I have now. I'm doing an internship this summer, so that might be stressful too, but in a different way. But hopefully it'll be a good experience! Also, I'm looking forward to a family gathering we're possibly having in July.
