I've been meaning to ask this for a long time, but thinking about this makes me so sad that I end up not doing it. Do you guys really want to keep this board alive, or do you wish to continue our conversations somewhere else that doesn't require a minimum of posts a day?

I know no one has the time to be here much anymore, we all have jobs and life stuff (which is great!), so...I just really wanna know your thoughts, because this is the second warning we get this year, we had like...a month break? And generally, I just feel like we're always apologizing for not posting much, and that's just not right, you know, posting should be fun, not something you feel guilty for not doing

Oh man. This makes me so sad. But I'm not surprised, we haven't been very active lately.

The thought of closing this board totally breaks my heart, but like Ju said, we're all pretty busy and I always feel guilty for not posting. And I know that the rest of this fall I'll be busier than ever, so I might not be able to post every week (let alone every day). So, maybe another place without the pressure could be better. But MAN, this makes me sad.

The thing is that I think that if we don´t have the ff, we are not going to write that much (not only for not having time), and that break my heart.

just the thought makes me so sad!!! But I'm guilty too, with school and everything going on, I just don't always have the time to come here...and I have the feeling that every time I post here it's only just whining

This board was my second home...when I came here, so many people were posting...too sad that it's not like this anymore...and yeah, I always say that I'll try to post more, but now the next few months will be hardcore with my diploma exams, so I can't promise to post more

I'm Not Dead

Like Ju, I have wondered lately if the best option is to let the board close. After being on FF for 16 years, I would HATE to see the closure of the board be a decision made by management because of our post count.

I've been thinking about stepping down for a while. Because, truth is, the job of a moderator IS to keep the board lively and active with discussions, and games, and everything. I haven't been able to do that here for a long time. It's been a long time since I watched ER, I don't wanna watch it as a chore just to have something to say. So, mostly, I've just been OTing, and it's not even positive OT, which sucks. If we were a large group of people, or even a small group of people, but the few ones that were here posted a lot, it'd be different, my current lack of enthusiasm wouldn't hurt the board so much but, as it is, it does.

I'd like to see the position filled by someone else, and I know any of you would do a terrific job, but I know none of you have the time to dedicate to this daily. And it has to be daily, it's not just the 6 months, we also can't risk going 48 hours without a post or we will be closed for that too

When I REALLY joined the ER forum, it was about to be closed back then too, but Tina decided to take over. After that, we had a really good run, Stephen became mod, then me, and for a long time, it was great and fun, it's just been a really hard and busy year for everyone. What I'm trying to say is it IS possible to save the board, we just someone who can be in charge of it.

This is just sad. Why even delete forums? Any logical explanation?
There are tons of forums for irrelevant stars and shows that lasted like a year still open :/

I can´t imagine not having the forum to post. Talk with you all, see the old threads, the photos,...
But each year we will be busier, I think so. I have periods per year that I am not that busy but I guess each year I´ll work longer.

If the decision is to close the forum, I would love to have first another place which we can continue posting, because If we don´t, I know we won´t talk much to each other and that is what I don´t want to. I want to continua with this beautiful friendship we have.

Those boards are still open because there are people posting on them regularly. When there is no activity (or almost no activity, as is the case here nowadays), the forum is closed. And that is because there is a management team, a moderator support team, communications team, graphics team and tech people all working on this forum, and there's no reason to make them look after a bunch of boards where no one is that interested in posting.
