I am still loving UnREAL. It is up to episode 6 but has already been renewed for Season 2. :woot:

I finished HTGAWM last night and I did NOT see that reveal of the killer coming :jaw_drop: :thud:

I've been trying to get into Brooklyn 99, but so far it's kinda meh :look: I'm on episode 3, does anyone else here watch it and know if it gets better?

67k posts :yay: :woot:

I only watched the pilot and wasn't fussed. I know it's by the same writers as Parks & Rec, so that was the only reason I checked it out in the first place. Cannot stand Andy Samberg.

I've watched 4 episodes so far and episode 4 was when I finally liked it, I think I'll keep watching now :)

Also, I decided to watch all Evelyne Brochu movies to cope with the loss of Delphine, and that seemed like a great. Until I also decided to start with Polytechnique

I haven't seen any of her movies - I take it that one is not a romcom?

It's a terrific movie, I just wasn't ready to see her get shot and die AGAIN so soon       But it's really well done, the photography and music are beautiful, the actors are all great, I really liked it, even though it traumatized me. It's about a shooting that happened in the Polytechnique college in Montreal in 1989. A misogynistic psycho decided to invade it and kill all the women he could find (Evelyne played one of the students), because he hated all feminists and how they ruined everything by demanding "privileges" (like maternity leave) while taking advantage of all that MEN accomplished and discovered. It's very disturbing, you know, to think that there can be so much hatred inside a person (specially when there are so many people out there who are like noooooo you're crazy, misogyny doesn't exist, you're exagerating). it also leaves you with that haunting feeling of mortality, you know, how you can leave your house as if it's just another day, and it ends up being your last. And, listening to his letter, looking at him...with that much hatred coming from him, I expected to feel the same level of hatred back, or at least disgust, yet...I can't descrbe what I felt for that character, it was almost pity...except it wasn't, it was more like despise, like, what a meaningless, sad, empty life this person had...It's also interesting to see how the survivors dealt with the trauma.

Don't you really wanna see it now?? I mean, yeah, it leaves you full of unpleasant feelings, but I love when a movie can really make me FEEL something and think about it, even if it's bad. So, yeah, a great movie :)

I watched another one of hers yesterday Frisson des collines. This one is cute, about a boy whose dream is to go to Woodstock. Evelyne plays a teacher in it, and her explanation of direct/indirect object made me go agkwhdegfhsejkfdrgk and fall in love with her instantly :thud: :sigh: :in_love:

Sounds fascinating. I am always on the lookout for thought-provoking films that I can screen to my older students. Thanks for these recommendations!

You're welcome! :D

The amount of hope this brought me is ridiculous

I'm Not Dead 07-12-2015 12:15 AM

 That's something, at least!

Without my laptop at the moment, so I can't watch anything. :pout:

Finally finished season 4 of GoT :yay: Yes, MUCH after the 5th  I actually didn't mind watching out of order, it was better this way, cause season 5 was SO dull, season 4 was so much better :sigh:

Masters of Sex started back last night, but as I do every year I will wait until the full season has aired. It's one of those shows that I just love to get lost in all at once.

Aurora Cormier 07-13-2015 09:45 PM

I still have to get back to watching that show.

I'm Not Dead 07-14-2015 06:00 PM

It is truly remarkable. I cannot recommend it enough.

There's a company here in Brazil called Daydream that has been doing fandom conventions since last year. They've already brought the cast of Vampire Diaries twice, recently they brought the Once Upon a Time people and it was such a success that they'll be coming again next year. They've been highly praised by everyone that attended, actors included. So, me and a bunch and other fans have been trying to get them to bring the Orphan Black people as well, and we've been trying to get the cast's attention so they know they're wanted here. Kevin Hanchard (who plays Art) replied today :D

That was the first time an actor ever replied to me, so I was really excited  We also got answers from Ari Millen (who plays the Castor clones) and Josh Vokey (Scott) :D and we'll keep trying the others too :D
