But I have a doubt, should I start watching from season 1 or can I just start watching from when Alex joins it? I mean, will I get too lost?

Will eventually start from Season 1 of the new series.

I think you'll be able to catch up if you start with this season, Ju.

It's kind of like ER. Once you figure out what some of the words/terms mean, then you can enjoy it.

And yes, Daleks are those freaky looking robots.

What I did is first I watched all of Alex's episodes (she first appears in a two-parter in season 4, then 4 episodes in season 5) and then I went back and watched the new series starting with season 1.. I would recommend at least watching the episodes Alex is in to get a better understanding of her character
