that's what I love about Yennefer, she is such a complex character with so many layers, she's strong and tough and powerful, but also has vulnerabilities and does have a caring and empathetic side when she chooses to show it. I think those people who think Yennefer is just a "cold b*tch" just doesn't understand her character.

I heard there wasn't much on Yennefer's backstory in the books, just some flashbacks, they fleshed her character out much more in the series, Yen had more character development in 1 season of the show than she did in 8 books and 3 games combined. It's obvious the showrunner really wanted to establish Yen as a main character in the series, because even though she was a main character in the books and games too, but she didn't get much backstory in the books or games. I'm glad they gave Yen so much focus and development in the series because I think all that development made Yen's character more complex and multidimensional and more sympathetic, many people sympathised with her character after they learned about her traumatic past and liked her character better.

yeah I remember you said Yennefer had more focus in the first few books than she did in the last few, and some people said she wasn't really a main character in the books, but was more like an important supporting character, and I was told she wasn't even in the first 2 games, she was only in the Witcher 3 game. It explains why she had much more focus and development in the series, obviously the showrunner really wanting Yen to play a bigger role in the series, and I'm glad because Yen became one of my 2 favourite characters

I did hear that the overall show did keep to the books pretty well so it probably was pretty close to what the books had.
