I'm not a fanfic writer. I've written 2 Gilmore Girl fics but never finished and I hate not finishing things. The fics got too complicated I lost the drive for it. I've never written UC before I'm not sure where I would start.

Why not start small? We used to have a contest once-in-a-while for a 100-word drabble.

You could almost write 100 words in your sleep.

Think of it as a start and add paragraphs -- or call it a chapter and then write another 100 words for the next chapter.

Or: tell yourself you're just going to write one scene -- I used to call that a 60-second story -- and string a couple of those together and, voila! A Story!

There are lots of ways to start.

However you do it, just DO it!

I know what you mean. I've often said that I can't even have 2 characters say "Hello" in only 100 words...

This is my second try at a post here;

I just finished a long complicated post with color-coded hyper-links and

suddenly went "poof" and it was gone. This time I did all the complicated stuff in my word-processor and saved it first...

The site which has hosted my three novel-length Max/Kyle stories suddenly disappeared the first of the year. I wish I had some notice so that I could at least snag the html-source from the pages and not have to recreate it. I have not worked with html for 2 or 3 years now and, unlike riding a bicycle, it doesn't just come-back to me.

I was mulling-over whether to even bother re-posting them when I received an email from someone asking to read them. (I think Vicellious had a hand in that.

)

I have hosted them on the .mac website using only the most rudimentary html. Maybe I can make them more attractive and functional some time in the future, but for now, they are at least available to anyone brave enough to wade through them.

Kyle's Diary

My first big story; 91,000+ words in 20 chapters, retelling what happens in the following 9 months to the group that leaves Roswell at the end of season 3.

The Antar Chronicles

This story is a direct sequel and will make no sense unless you read Kyle's Diary first.

Secrets and Lies

61,000+ words in 39 chapters. This story tells the story of the Max/Kyle relationship from its beginning. The story is contiguous with the 3 televised seasons of ROSWELL and ends at the point the series ends. It is not absolutely necessary -- but would be helpful to read Kyle's Diary before reading this.

**Scratching my head in complete confusion**

Were those stories not on SG??? It's still up, but they changed to addy some as many of the boards are switching to Yuku and the orginal owner and re-opened another. Granted, it's been a while since I've been there, but all the threads that I'd pruned and closed are now open and unpruned

And now I find that your fics are gone?? I haven't a clue as to how that happened. I was thinking to upgrade it to yuku and clean it all up to keep the great stories still around. Many of the writers are either no longer around the fandom or writing. And Roswell slash is even harder to find now.

All three stories were at SG at one time, but Kyle's Diary and The Antar Chronicles just disappeared *poof* some time ago. The title-page and disclaimer still remains for Secrets and Lies but only a link remained for the story itself -- and the site it linked to was the one that disappeared the first of the year: Echo's Revenge.

I just thought that somebody decided that they took-up too much space because they are so long, and deleted them. I confess

I haven't been to the new SG site yet -- I mean to, I've just been kind-of busy and haven't gotten to it yet.

I guess I should have asked you when I first noticed the fics were gone, but I figured that since they were at Echo's site, folks could find them if they wanted to...

I was genuinely surprised when I discovered that site was gone. I wish Echo had thought of just sending a little email to his authors...

Anyway -- the stories are up on my own server now and I am (little-by-little) correcting type-o's and mis-spellings that made it through my spell-checker 5 years ago. I can't believe there are still errors after all these years. I've corrected them multiple times.

I have also moved most of the gallery pages at Alex's Nick Wechsler Gallery (see link in Forum Affiliates) to my own (rented) server, just linking to them from AngelFire. The links are actually invisible to the user but operate much faster from my server at MAC.com and look a whole lot better than Photobucket -- and they don't have AngelFire's ads either!

I will probably convert the rest of the galleries in the next month or so, just keeping the main page at AngelFire so I can keep the address which I have had for several years now.

Well, that's cool

As to what happened to the *poof* stories, I couldn't tell you. A lot of the prunning and locking I'd done after the board closed is...undone? It was like the stuff I'd done was never done *sigh* Anyway, Since ez b are switching to yuku, I'm switching it over, doing a new theme and banner renaming it SG Archive. If you want to put them back on, just let me know.
I'd like to preserve these slash stories the best I can

I'm working on improving the looks of the page at this point, but at least the stories are up and available.

Oh, I wish my muse was active. I gave him some time off because I've put him under some severe stress the past couple of months *sigh* But I'd love some GOOD slash Roswell fics. I just don't think anyone writes it anymore

Anyone have any ideas for a short (and I mean a short) story?
