It's been a wild weekend and bad me, haven't posted as much as I'd wanted Thursday, spent the day out of town and brought home my 5 yr old granddaughter for the weekend. Did I ever mention that she's more work than my twins EVER were???
Friday was payday which meant it was shopping day...grocery shoping that is *sigh* But did take granddaughter to mall where she went to one of those build-a-bear type stores. She got a giraff with a denim skirt outfit and cowboy boot Now, remember, I grew up tom-boyish with two older brothers and I've only raised boys...so girls kind of baffle me
Today, we had a BBQ where people from our old town and our new friends were invited. Not as many came as they said would, but we had a good turn out. In fact, it's nearly 12:30am and we just had the last couple leave, and a couple crashing in our den (we're responsible partiers ) And this party started at noon today. So as you can guess, I'm pooped.
Granddaughter goes home sometime tomorrow (or should I say today??) and life will thankfully get back to normal *whew*
Oh, and did I mention that our TV lamp last night exploded? So we can't watch our bigscreen tv for a couple of days until the new lamp arrives.
As usual, we've been busy bees...but I plan on posting more tomorrow

It has been raining on-and-off all day here. I am supposed to drive down to Chicago tomorrow for a concert a friend is giving, but I saw on the news that freeways were flooded there today, and they are supposed to get more rain from Ike tomorrow, so I haven't decided if I'll go or not. If I go, you won't hear from me until late -- very late. If I don't go, well, I'll just be hanging around.

Update, Sunday:Well, the rains from the edges of Ike are coming-down with a vengeance, and there are already reports of freeway flooding, so i am not going to risk trying to drive to Chicago. Guess I'll just be hanging around here... in the dark...

Sorry about not postig for a couple of days. My internet kept going out on me. Just when I thought I was good, it would poof again. After much frustration, I think it's all cleared up *sigh* after some $$ spent and some technical support. But I'm back

Anyone heard from Kyleschick? When is she supposed to be back? Does she live in the Ike zone???

Okay, has anyone messed with those digital converter boxes yet? I have one tv (out of 4) that's not hooked up to Directv. It's always been my "storm" tv with bunny ears where I can watch the news when satelite goes out. At least in Cocoa. Here, the channels are still very fuzzy, but at least I get sound.
Anyway, I sent off for a coupon, got it Saturday and went and purchased one of those converters...oh, and we had to buy a new set of bunny ears that actually works with digital waves. *pfft* This is supposed to allow us great picture, more channels, etc...
NOT! This just shows what a crappy area I live in (yeah, the satelite internet business is still irking me). After playing for an hour with it, I only recieved 1 (yes, ONE) channel (Fox). I had three fuzzy ones before the converter. Now I have one. The picture is great, but come on. Do I live is that bad of an area? We get great cell phone reception. How can the rest be a pain?
*Sigh* Rant over.
I'm just going to go to the public library tomorrow and do a bunch of downloading Use up their net

Sorry to hear about this as I haven't done anything about the switch to digital yet. All 3 of my TVs are on cable, but I figure I should get one of those boxes while there's still a rebate in case I don't have cable sometime. My brother-in-law bought a new digital TV and is having problems getting his usual channels (he's too cheap to pay for cable ) even after he got a new antenna. I think a lot of folks are going to be in for a surprise come February.

Oh, yeah. Husband was actually able to get another channel earlier tonight. Perhaps it just depends on the weather and what's on *sigh* But I have a feeling that there'll be lots of complaints come Feb. Of course, I do have one of those huge anteneas on the side of our house...just not hooked up. Maybe I should see about getting the line connected. That might help more than the tiny rabbit ears.

I hope everyone didn't eat too much candy yesterday
I was really good and only ate 1 piece (dang diet ) And that was taking the kids trick or treating and had at least 5 lbs of candy in my hand

Spent the day doing doing edits, reading, and watching a couple of eppies of Heroes.
