Well, I'm back and feeling pretty good. We had fun on the cruise, but found that I think I like Carnival Cruises better. Better shows/activities for the adults. But I think everyone should at least experience a Disney Cruise.

I need toget the last couple of boxes unpacked (little nick-nacks ) tomorrow as our oldest son, his wife, and daughter are coming to visit tomorrow. And then we are having some friends coming on Thurs to spend the night. Gotta get those pictures up too

There has been much discussion on the Moderator's Board concerning Boards which have a lot of game threads which bear no relationship to the subject matter of the board. Moderators have been asked to close such threads.

Nearly all of the game-threads we have on this board are Nick-related except:

TPBM (-- this could easily be changed and played so that it is Nick-related if we wish to do so)
Word Association
Ending Letter

Some boards have 3-word stories and/or 300-word stories that are not related to their subject, but our stories always have Nick as the subject all the way through, so I don't think this represents the problem they are trying to address.

Considering that we have (by my estimation) only two non-Nick-related threads, my inclination is to do nothing at this point unless one of the Moderator Managers PMs me and wants to talk about it...

(Note: This concern is specifically about game-threads, not about bona fide Off-Topic threads, of which most boards have one or two, as do we.)

I agree, Alex. I personally love the word association and letter ending games as they make me think and our members don't just do those two threads, but also participate on the others as well.

FYI...Tropical Storm Fay has decided to visit Florida...and swing by my new home *sigh* Not sure on the weather, how my satelite internet will hold up, or even is we'll lose power. We rarely did in Cocoa, but I live in a much different place now. Bad weather is supposed to start early morning and there's always the chance of tornadoes. That's worse than the storm.

Well, it appears as if Fay didn't want anything to do with us. After all sorts of preperation and lots of things closed, we've gotten nothing but light showers off and on. However, an interesting fact, it has stalled out over where I'd just moved from The Air Force Base has received 18 inches of ran And the like in the southern part of that county.
But my net has been soooo slow de to the cloudy/rainy weather. Earlier, I couldn't even get on to I've noticed that I can get on my email easy enough even during these slow times, but to get on forums with lots to load, it's almost as bad as dial up But hey...at least I've got net service
