And thank goodness she's gone. I didn't like her scenes with Carson or with Nancy. They felt so...fake. She was such a one-dimensional character it wasn't even funny.

Yeah she was really awkward with Carson and Nancy. Fake is a good word to describe it.

I felt like the whole Carson/Karen/Nancy thing in the Pilot just contributed to the soapy vibe the show gave off in the early episodes. Like...was this really a necessary thing?!?!

It just didn't fit Carson's character...at all. He seemed super devoted to Kate. I can't imagine he's that desperate for sex that he had to start sleeping with his wife's friend???? After only 6 months?? And I'm betting Kate told him to find someone else...but I'm guessing she didn't mean THAT!

Yeah he and Kate seemed very devoted to each other. It doesn't seem super realistic that he would immediately go after her friend. Plus with the whole secret lovers thing and slight wicked stepmother vibes....it's veryyy soapy.

Yeah I think there was some retconning after the Pilot. Plus...I mean their relationship was dropped pretty quickly and then only brought back up in Episode 9...to make it more of a betrayal when she arrested him.

Well what i feel it when they both were grieving over Kate and just found comfort in each other, happens alot peoples feelings get mixed up . I mean it's the age old drama your best friend cheating on you with your husband or wife

Ehhhhhh. IDK if I agree with how realistic it is. I mean...yeah it happens...but that's not the reason it happened on the show. The show was DEFINITELY soapier at first and that's because Stephanie Savage and Josh Schwartz co-wrote the Pilot with the show's creator...and their specialty is soapy drama. Good thing they are not involved with the creative process anymore. That's why a new showrunner was brought in after the Pilot.

Yeah smart idea for them to take a different route i wouldn't of watched the show if it was like that I like the supernatural aspects of it

Yeah...I can't really do soapy dramas anymore. Nothing is ever sacred on those shows.
