That was such a sweet, sweet moment for them! 1x11 is such a great Nick/George episode!

1x11 was an awesome Nick and George episode. They work well together.

Overall, I do have some complaints about that episode. I think I mostly talk about this before in the ep discussion thread.

I thought the Nick/George stuff was great in a vacuum, but....

1. How Nick ran off with Nancy for some reason??? And Nick didn't even say goodbye? I thought that was rude. Also, not really even in character for Nick. I thought that whole subplot was shoehorned into the episode or it could have been leftover from a rewrite??

2. No Ace at all in the episode when they just made a big deal of him coming back the episode before.

3. Owen. His whole plot was just weird. All he did was try to pursue Nancy and then he was ignoring. her calls???

4. Nancy's dream sequence. Had to have been something that was left over from their original planned storyline before switching to Nick/George. Because it's obvious they originally intended for a Nick/Nancy/Owen love triangle.


Definitely one of the weirder written episodes. It was VERY disjointed.

Yeah the Owen was really weird in that episode. And Ace-less episodes are always a little sad. Yeah I think they were originally going a different direction with Nick/George/Nancy and then something changed (for the positive I think) but this episode seems like kind of out of place with where they were going.

It was probably the weirdest Owen episode of all of his episodes.

To me it seems like they had this episode already written into the later stages and then decided to change some parts and it ended up a disjointed mess. I think the Nick/George "shippy" stuff was added on a later draft and so they had to change other stuff around.

And Ace needs to be in every episode going forward. Why should he be the only member of the Drew Crew to miss episodes?

Yeah I think this is pretty likely! Everything seems a little bit disjointed like it was kind of separate drafts. And the Nick and George bits are the best!

Because in television screenwriting, they are always working on multiple episodes at once and they are always in different stages of writing. So maybe they had the general outline of the story, but they had to change the Nick/George stuff.

Huh I never knew this! I thought it was like they finished one and started another. But that totally makes sense.
