I had a different 'read' on that scene because I don't think Sophie is the "Iris West" of this show (the main hero's love interest) and don't see her and Kate getting together in the end.

She's firmly "in the closet" and I think she'll end up staying that way.

Oops, I meant “closet”. And nah, I just want her to be honest with herself and whoever she wants to be with. So if it is that guy, I don’t mind it if she isn’t hiding that she’s a bisexual from him.

It’s sad if she feels the need to hide it. All I’m saying.

I’m with Chelle. Could care less to see Kate and Sophie together again. I believe you miss the point we conveyed.

Yeah wanting her to be honest with herself & not in the closet doesn't automatically align with wanting her with Kate. Just because she had a relationship with Kate in the past doesn't automatically make her a lesbian either. She could be bisexual so could have a perfectly committed & loving relationship with her husband. If she feels that she has to stay in the closet & deny having a relationship with a woman or being attracted to women then that's a terrible life to live. I'd hope that isn't the place she's at & that she can at least be honest with her husband about her past & her sexuality or over time can open up to him about it. All I'd want for her is happiness & living in the closet doesn't bring that from my experience as you're at war with yourself & trying to cover things up & hope no one finds out your secret

For me I don't see her feeling unhappy in that scene. I didn't think she wanted Kate to know as it'd be hard to tell your ex that you're married now - especially one who just came back because you were in danger so presumably still has feelings for you. Then Sophie probably has unresolved feelings about how they broke up if not also for Kate even if she's no longer in love with Kate & has moved on. I saw guilt over Kate finding out like that. Meanwhile her husband seemed completely oblivious to it all - which adds to the presumption that poor Sophie is in the closet

Yeah, it wasn’t quite unhappiness either. I just meant she didn’t show excitement to introduce her husband, which makes sense. For the reasons you mentioned, Chelle. From the flashbacks, they didn’t leave it on a good note. Sophie denied her feelings for Kate. I’m not sure Sophie wanted Kate to find out like that, that’s why the expression of unease she gave Kate. It looks like Sophie and him are happily married, not denying that. But he also seemed oblivious to her past relationship or fling with Kate. And the unease look makes me feel she is still hiding that part of her. As a confirmation to Kate that he doesn’t yet know.

To sort of circle back to Sophie's 'role' in the series, I think she's going to eventually be the 'Diggle' to Kate's 'Oliver' while Tyler fills the 'Lyla' role to an extent.

And I don't think her past relationship with Kate is something that Sophie feels shame about; I just don't think she thinks it's relevant to her life with Tyler or representative of who she is now... but we'll see where the show goes.
