One of the main characters has bipolar but they also touch a bit on depression. (The's the OG)
The remakes talk about both bipolar and borderline personality disorder. __________________

Oh nice that they show a few different things & not just 'depression' which I kinda feel is the more obvious one to show? It is wonderful to represent all & to do it well, but good to get out there that its not just depression, there's other mental health issues which people can face in their lives. Also nice that its one of the main characters with bipolar & not just a secondary one
I really feel like this is a show which needs to become so much bigger in a way. Get it out to as many people as possible. But I guess it is doing that since so many countries are adapting it for their own. Probably better that way since its more relevant then __________________

It's a huge part of one of the seasons, and clearly it's needed to be talked about and the representation is needed. Hearing the actors (that play bipolar characters) say how many messages in thanks they get for playing those characters and doing it truthfully, it must be such a relief to have a relatable character on television who isn't just his mental illness either.
Honestly, I don't think that I knew of any bipolar characters before SKAM? __________________

I don't know that there is any. I've seen PTSD & depression, not necessarily done well or only touched on in like 1 episode or in the background, but not bipolar.
How wonderful for the actors & for those people seeing themselves being represented well __________________

I honestly had no idea what having bipolar actually meant and the core of it, so watching SKAM has really opened my eyes and brought awareness.

 And special shout out to skam france that made their bipolar character truly talk about what it's like because personally it made me understand it even more, and sympathise with it ever more because it just seems horrible to go through and feel so helpless against it. SKAM truly made me think more about the way mental illness can effect us and our decisions, whether we want to or not, and it's "nice" to be aware of it so you have more context when you talk to people. i don't know, what i'm trying to explain isn't coming out right.  __________________
